So we know he won't retire and in my opinion there is no shame is losing to Joyce. So where does he go from here?
He's a former champion. He still has an abundance of fight options. He's definitely still top 10 and I don't see a lot of guys outside of the top 10 beating him.
There are no more british contenders to fight, he milked the british audience and made a good money . He can fight Dubois still , but otside the UK i can't see any contender paying him good money to be a stepping stone.
Dubois vs Parker sounds like a natural fight to make. Another good one could be Parker vs Briedis to get Parker back in the win column, especially with Briedis now fighting folks in that part of the world.
There are at least 8 good opponents for him in the 2023 Ruiz rematch, Wilder, Bakole, Sanchez, Wallin, Hrgovic, Makhmudov, Zhang...
Hunter Rematch Whyte Hrgovic Wallin - Get revenge for his girlfriend Martin Sanchez - if he’s feeling strong Some great fights to make still, no shame in losing to Joyce
He could fight Hrgovic, Mak, Jalolov, Dubois, Kabayel, Kossobutskiy, Ajagba, Zhang, or someone like those... plenty of options.
Please no more Whyte talk. These gatekeeper need to do their job and fight the young guys who want to break into the top 10. Whyte will never ever be champ and neither will Parker. Fighting each other achieves nothing. They need to check Sanchez , Hergo, and any other young prospect at the door instead of circle jerking each other year after year.
Plenty of good opponents for Parker to fight. Ideally Whyte rematch or Wallin/Hrgovic for an interesting match up.
