Judging Jack on his fight against Dempsey (despite him losing he put on a great effort, how's he do against Marciano? Do you believe Jack has it in him to trouble and perhaps beat, the Rock?
That's not out of the question. If a fighter had any doubts against Marciano, he was in the wrong place.
Marciano wasn’t no Old Inactive Jack Dempsey. He’d be totally out of his depth with his weak lower back and blue berry smoothies against a real Top G like Jackie Shark.
Well if Sharkey felt the need to turn to the referee to protest a foul against Dempsey resulting in him getting KO'd, i think Mr Sharkey would be turning to the ref a whole lot more versus Marciano. I liked Dempseys reply when asked why he had thrown a left hook while Sharkey wasn't looking. Dempsey said, "What was I going to do write him a letter?"
You would have to make Marciano the favorite, but this version of Sharkey, might just be the best that he had been in with.
Marciano just needs Frankie Brown as the third man,Brown was the referee for the Cockell fight and allowed Rocly to butt, hit low, after the bell and while Cockell was down ,and never once warned him.Rocky could kick Sharkey and it would be okay by old Frankie !
See, I love this fight. I think it would have been brilliant. I agree with @janitor that you would have to make Rocky the favorite, but he would be in for a tussle. I think Jack is very underrated. The dude had a good, hard, pole-like jab and could both box and punch. And clearly, 15 rounds was nothing to him. I would go with Rocky in the end, but not without some scary moments or with Jack leading until the ending came along. Rocky would know he was in a fight.
I can see that. A more constant Quarry if there is such a thing! Jerry hit a bit harder though and had the better chin.
