If you were a young boy, what all time great would you like to be taught by on how to defend yourself? Would it be Mike Tyson, Roberto Duran or Tyson Fury? Lets hear some past or present greats who could show you a thing or two.

Not sure if they will be considered an ATG or not, but James Toney. I know there were many skilled fighters before his time, but he happens to be the one I witnessed in my lifetime that I really came to admire. I've been told I need to watch more Duran, but he reminds me too much of my old man. Plus seeing fights out of context sometimes takes a special quality out of them.

I don’t know why but I’m feeling like Jack Johnson would be my pick, more for who he was then what he could teach me.

He would be my own number one choice. Others who come to mind are Archie Moore,Ray Leonard and Jack Johnson.

I'd lean towards Duran, or Archie Moore - greats with longevity; that tells me their stuff will still work as I age, as opposed to styles like Ali and Tyson that relied heavily on the quickness and strength of youth.

I'd want some who's technically very sound to teach me the boxing basics the right way. Someone like Salvador Sanchez would fit the bill.

I wouldn't want athletically gifted fighters teaching me like Ali, Jones, Or ultra aggressive fighters like Tyson, Duran.

I feel like a guy who has high IQ in the ring, technically sound, doesn't get hit alot, would be the best ones to teach you.

Same here. Mainly because Ali threw all headshots in combos.

Haha, neither really - although he did have some facial hair. Just dark black hair and the same aura of anger about him. He was a good guy though. Duran really does remind me of him though. He passed from cancer when I was a teenager, so seeing Duran get punched triggers that memory in me for some reason.
