I’m not seeing it. All we heard from Crawford was “I’m gonna go get this bag real quick”, never saw anything about showing the world what a PPV star he is on an unknown app, against David Avanesyan.

 

So what you are saying is Crawford is an idiot that signed for a 10 million purse and a new PPV company without so much as think how this would play out in that negotiation?

Far from it. He thinks he is an 8 figure PPV star. Only company stupid enough was BLK , who threw money away to sign him. This was Bud's way of trying to prove his PPV ability.

 

These are two grown men who control their own destiny, so yes, they deserve at least some of the blame.

 

I’d actually say Crawford is smart because he’s not hinging his career on Spence. He made a good sum of money vs Avanesyan and like a lot of people, probably has doubts Spence ever happens. I also don’t see how Spence lowers a zero guarantee and supposedly 35% split even more, unless he really doesn’t want to fight. But these details are upto the fighters and what they’re willing to concede and accept. Many a times one guy has gotten “overpaid” because that’s how much his opponent wanted the fight.

 

Spence is not in control of his own "destiny" as you put it. Al Haymon is.

If Al Haymon wanted Spence to fight Crawford, they would have fought 3-5 years ago. It's Haymon who hasn't wanted to risk the belts he owns. Those belts are worth a hell of a lot of money to the promoter.

Neither fighter is avoiding the fight. If both were in control of their own destiny, the fight would have occurred by now.

This is true but he wont be considered as an all time great. He has taken zero risks in return for true greatness. Do i blame him? Maybe not. Health and Wealth are paramount at the end of the day. **** the fans, they are going to help you eat out of a straw when you take a beating and lose your money. But at the same time just be honest, he obviously doesn't really want the Spence bout.

 

The Spence fight will go a long way to determine his legacy but he is not hungry for it because he knows he will lose. Let’s remind him that Sugar Ray Leonard fought and overcame Hearns who was practically unbeatable at 147 pounds.
