I just rewatched FOTC the other day and yeah, few ATGs would beat that version of Frazier. Those left hooks were relentless and he was excellent at slipping the jab. Not to mention he took a beating throughout and would not give up. The only ATGs I see having a solid shot of winning are those who emphasize uppercuts and/or are great at neutralizing left hooks.

I think prime Liston is way more dangerous for Frazier than Louis.
Here my predictions (including puchers chance)

    Baer: 60%
    Schmeling: 60%
    Louis: 45%
    Marciano: 45%
    Patterson: 70%
    Liston: 25%
    Clay: 45%
    Norton: 55-60%
Mid 70's version of Ali: 60%
    Lyle: 60%
    Young: 50-50
    Holmes: 60%
    Witherspoon: 50-50
    M.Spinks: 70%
    Tyson: 35%
    Holyfield: 35%

Now i idea how a fight vs the real big guys would look like. Lewis & WK probably fouling a lot. (leaning on, clinching, stiff arm)

    Yup.

Prime Frazier of 71 was insanely dangerous. Fast, unpredictable, relentless, with great inside game. If he cracked into your rhythm, you dead, and he his defense was often magic. % of punches landed against him in his prime, especially lead left hand, is jarringly low. Even the accurate, clever, and hellishly clever Ali had trouble finding Frazier's timing with his 1-2.

Joe's strong top ten to me ATG. People forget how relentless and strong he really was. He's bigger at least 20 lbs , as strong or stronger, faster , and did not cut over the Rock, 6 inch reach advantage. 2 sluggers.( Albeit not picking a victor)
the big punchers are going to give Smokin Joe problems, Like a Liston, Frazier's at least a top ten

They don't need to KO him, they'd win on points.
And no, Frazier wouldn't be able to get in close frequent enough or long enough to do any significant damage.
Fury is so much bigger than him and will manhandle him with ease, leaning with all his weight on him or clinching if needed. And he hits hard enough when he lands, certainly harder than Ali, though not by much.
And Usyk is far too skilled for Joe, more skilled than Ali was, and won't have any trouble hitting Frazier.
And both are ATG'S already, especially Fury, who I rate way higher than Frazier all time.

Frazier hits harder with his left hook, but that's all he has..The roids made Holyfield stronger and he also had a better chin. Not to mention he was way more skilled and rounded as a boxer.
    Holyfield beats him.

Frazier has no answer for Wlad's jab and grab. And Wlad won't be afraid to let his hands go against a small guy like Frazier.

They all KO him in 3-4 rounds tops.
Frazier comes forward, which will make it very easy for them.

Foreman dudn't hit harder than Lewis, at least not with the right hand.

Good picks but I can't see Spoon or especially Young 50-50.

Well said. Joe wasn't just a little, plodding guy, getting his face smacked.
That left of his was one of the most dangerous ever seen in the division.

Holyfield was far better than Frazier and fought nothing like him.
Holyfield also didn't face a prime Tyson, the way Frazier would.

I think these figures average 15% too low for Joe.
He would do better than you think.

Frazier was a greater force as a heavyweight than Holyfield was. His style of fighting, bobbing and weaving, slipping inside, working the body, sneaky lefthook that carried power. Joe was very skilled at his style of fighting. Very precise, accurate, short punches. He also had an insane work rate, non stop throwing leather. Gets stronger as the fight goes on.

In short Holyfield would wish he was fighting Tyson after a few rounds with Smoke. Remember Evander went life and death with Bert Cooper who took the fight on short notice. I doubt Micheal Moorer ( though a good fighter) gets out of the dressing room against any version of Joe.

IMO Holyfield was more well rounded than Frazier and had a bigger variety of tools in his arsenal. Frazier had good stamina, but all he had offensively was a left hook, that's it.
I'd bet big on Holyfield beating him.

Neither do i Spinks is far too lazy with his offence to beat Frazier, and i don't see his big overhand right being much of a weapon vs Frazier.

As for Young his style matches up really bad, vs an ATG swarmer like Frazier. Frazier would literally bully him all round the ring.
