It was a stinker fight and came off 5 years past the due date, but I actually thought Manny won it. Not a "fanboy" of either fighter, just calling it as I remembered it. Anyone's thoughts?
As someone who predicted a Pacquiao victory, I personally scored 3 rounds for Pacquiao - and I thought that may have been generous. It's mind-boggling to me that anyone feels Manny won, slow-mo or otherwise. It wasn't a great fight by any means, but I thought it was fairly easy to score, and Mayweather thoroughly outboxed Pacquiao without really needing to take things out of 1st gear. Pacquiao simply couldn't apply the type of effective pressure needed to make a real fight of it.
In my opinion Pac was never given a chance in that fight. He agreed to go through with the fight if he was allowed to take a LEGAL pain killing drug , Toradol, because of a rotator cuff injury. It was apparently agreed only to have it denied him night of the fight as he "Hasn't ticked the right box" claiming injury according to the NSAC. This is the same NSAC that refused to investigate Floyd when he was caught red handed receiving Illegal Excesssive 750 ml of saline in his own home . All they did was issue the statement " Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong we will not be investigating" !!! Then they issued him a retroactive TUE for the saline 3 weeks later LOL He'd broken THREE of the NSAC's own laws in what he did.. Something was definitely not right there you must agree . In fairness to Pac the result of that fight should have been changed to a No Contest But we all know Floyd ,the NSAC & Vegas boxing don't we
Manny looked dirt vs Algeri to me. And had been iced by Marquez already. I personally think he was clean for the fight to entice Mayweather and Mayweather by most accounts was dirty for the fight. With the IV bag evidence. Whatever it was - Manny did not look sharp. And the fight was a dud. Mayweather won easy. 9-3
Mayweather won easy it wasn't even one of his top 5 hardest fights. I have no idea how on gods green earth, you could give Pacquiao more than 4 rounds.
Floyd beats Pac in any common weight division. That fight was such a dud I believe it hastened the decline of popularity of boxing in the general public.
It was clearly a 10-2 Type fight in Floyds favor. Anything more than that is crazy. It would be a different discussion if they had fought 5 years prior, when they were both the number 1 and number 2 p4p fighters tho.
I'm a Pacquiao fanboy but I think Mayweather won 7 or 8 rounds. That said when you see the 118-110 it seems obvious that getting a win was going to be tough.
I'm glad to see you realize the shennanikins that went on. He got caught red handed but the NSAC refused to investigate. No wonder boxing is classed alongside the WWE by the casual fans. Only difference is the WWE do not class pro wrestling as a combat sport they describe it as ENTERTAINMENT!!
