Looks like Olympic boxing could be dead even for Paris in 2024, instead of the proposed 2028 games.

This will have a huge impact on the Pro Game.

They got the gymnastics official to run the boxing in Tokyo. Pity they cant organise it again that way. Not a wiff of scandal.
You never hear of the gymnasts being judged dodgy.

It goes to show what a corrupt basket case the sport is that the IOC has pulled it from the olympics. After giving it clear instructions on what to do and years to achieve those improvements. Based on it being an established Olympic sport.

They still couldn’t even follow the instructions required.

It’s going to impact the professional game for sure.

The professional sport needs to step in here with the IOC to get amateur boxing returned to the olympics. As they are very much dependent on good amateurs coming through for the professional sport to thrive.

Boxing has always been a corrupt sport. It’s sad the amateur variant couldn’t put its own greed and corruption aside to maintain the standing of the sport internationally.

The end of point scoring boxers that medal getting wildly inflated pro contracts.

Still a lot of talking to do. Boxing is always a serious draw at every Olympics. The key is keeping AIBA out of it, just like last time.

I’m struggling as well, 2 professionals won medals. At super heavy Bakolov, or near enough that name, won gold and Keyshawn Davis got a silver then jumped back into the pros. Suppose it’s okay to do that, As Marciano did the same, yet still has an official “unbeaten” record!

The rights changed this past olympic cycle, terrestrial broadcasters had a lot less to go on than before. BBC would have shown a lot more of the UK boxers if it was able to, and doubled down on radio coverage instead.

The IOC is one of the most corrupt organisations on the planet.

They have been covering up PED use for so long now it's not funny.

They probably banned boxing because they couldn't get enough money out of it.

    **** the IOC.

One positive I can see from this is the counties best boxers actually boxing every year in their national championships. It’s a disgrace that many of the GB boxers sit out the nationals so they can just focus on the internationals.

british amateur boxing needs to go back to basics and focus on the grass roots and nationals.

    LOL.

All of your heroes are using drugs.

I also hope you don't wear any Nike or any other such goliath in sportswear as it appears you haven't yet made that connection, either.
