Wilfredo Benitez, Oscar DelaHoya, James Toney, Terry Norris. All very good boxers but for me they fall into that area between very good and great.
Hi Buddy. Not as one with you on your " hundreds and hundreds " that would suggest 200 minimum, if we start from say 1890ish through to 2022, personally I would struggle with naming 200 boxers as Greats/ATG, I suppose some of us would consider a fighter to be a Great ATG, while others would disagree , as pointed out with previous posts, being inducted to the HOF does not qualify you as ATG, witness Froch, maybe I am not thinking clearly, and old age has dimmed my memory ( very probable ) now what was I saying..... stay safe hombre, chat soon.
Love them but I have to single them out: Sonny Liston Matthew Saad Muhammad Ingemar Johannsson Arturo Gatti Ray Mancini
I'm not sure how Greb is overrated. Hard to overrate that guy. One of the greatest warriors in the history of boxing. Guys he whipped are in the Hall of Fame. + he's from Pennsylvania.
Can never understand how anyone can call Ingo a great fighter. Was a very good European fighter, one of the best of the early 20 th century but not an ATG in my opinion.
Best of Season Mike... if we took just 1 fighter a year over the last 150 years of Boxing that is a 150 fighters, now that would be both 'inaccurate & insulting' to the Tens of Thousands of fighters who graced the Square Circle. so in ALL of the World, over that 150 year period, I think it is pretty safe to say you've got plenty of TOP Men who were/are great fighters, year upon year. So as stated, there are hundreds of them.
Hi Buddy. Nice that you opened with a thoughtful gesture, and didn't get aggy, speaks well of you, and you laid your stool out in a measured way, still not 100% on board with the assertion, but will bow to your synopsis . stay safe buddy.
