That's true, Price was streaking back then, and considered a potential heir apparent.

Hope he stays retired as he seems a genuine nice fella, but it would be amazing if he came back and layed waste to the division with a series of monstrous right hands

How’s the Irish belt pointless? You can’t really speak from his position.

I get his meaning, the Irish belt isn't meaningless, but surely carries less kudos than the British title. I 100% saw this as a clear duck back then, only now can we see it might not have been quite as we thought, but Price's confidence would have been sky high at that point, pre Thompson etc etc.

Those who were fans or thought that Fury would be able to beat Klitschko were few and far between and were ridiculed. The amount of times people told me Fury would be leathered by Price must have been well into the hundreds. The same people have been forced into shifting the goalposts as they have been made to watch Fury's storybook career unfold before their resentful eyes.

Fury can now look back and say that he has won every belt available to him. That's not a bad achievement, and nobody can speak from his vantage point as to what the Irish belt meant/means to him. He was only twenty-three when he beat Rogan to win it. While Price was being knocked out by an ancient Tony Thompson in his forties, Fury was calling for both Klitschko's to face him.

But that's with the benefit of hindsight, seeing how both of their careers have planned out.

Back then, Price was taken a lot more seriously

It's not with hindsight, though. It's the stance I took at the time, and I'm no boxing expert. I'm just someone who can think critically and not buy into the latest hype product. Joshua was being marketed as the Muhammad Ali and look how that panned out. Again, obvious to anyone who can think for themselves.

Anyone with any sense knew that Price was not all he was cracked up to be and that Fury was far superior.

Anyone watched/listened the interview he did with Cassius on his podcast? It's really good.
