I don't agree, I thought Price was more advanced at the time, albeit with a frustrating pawing type left jab, I thought Fury was a bit of an enigma, and I definitely thought he dropped the British title to avoid big Pricey.

And I never bought into the Joshua hype, particularly after his Olympic "win".

His hype was off the chain, Price was never as heavily hyped, but the way he dealt with John McDermott showed he was a real threat, and Fury fighting Martin Rogan instead of him didn't assist that view.

That I can't think critically, and am unable to see through hype.

Fury, in all honesty lost to McDermott in the first fight, (albeit he put it right in the return), Price blew him away.

Price was seen as more advanced at the time, due to both the results of their common opponent, and the fact he was an older, more experienced fighter, with clearly crippling power, and Olympic medal pedigree, both things Fury lacked.

I also could see there was an air of fragility to him, I knew he'd been brutally stopped in the ams, and I recall he was rocked in a early 'pro contest.

Obviously, their careers went in different ways, but that's how I saw it at the time, Price being more advanced, and Fury dropping a title to avoid a fight with Price, "at that time".

Anyway, enjoying the debate, no offence meant, just a good reasoned debate!

    Just missing a pint!

    Ustinov would have stood in
Fury will take that fight now he's craved his craft

Fury expected Joshua to avenge snicker Andy straight away whilst fury took the lighter longer path to do the same for mc d

You're trying to rationalise why you believe Price would have beaten Fury ten years ago, which is an absurd thing to do. Even ten years on, the Fury detractors can't hold their hands up and say "I was tragically wrong". Triangle theories don't work in sport, but boxing fans love to use them when it suits.

Just like the Joshua fanboys like @Brixton Bomber aka @BEATDOWNZ aka @Plaistow aka @Pezee can't admit that Joshua was a hype job and they wasted their money on them.

Absolute chod mate, I'm more than happy to admit I was wrong, that's how I saw it at the time.

That's like someone saying "they knew Freddie Pendleton/Buster Drayton would always be world champions".

    Easy with benefit of hindsight.

That would have been an interesting fight back then, shame it didn't happen. Probably a debate in itself

I wish these fights happened in their prime. Fury would have won both fights but the buildup alone would have been fun.
