Come back Foreman vs Bruno

I’d still pick old George to win a stoppage, but this fight would have been hellacious for him at that stage.

 

Foreman KOs Bruno eventually, but George probably has a battered face before the ending.

 

Yes, George wouldn't be looking too great, but he gets Frank out of there in 9 or 10.

 

I don’t know. I don’t think the version of Bruno who rumbled with Lennox is losing this one but Old Foreman might just stiff leg Bruno with something sneaky, he’s very clever- Frank was not.

 

I see it the same way, Foreman takes some hellacious punishment but eventually catches Bruno with a tide-turning single shot then goes on to score a TKO.

 

Did Bruno ever beat a good puncher?

I recall him doing well early then gassing out and stretched a few times

 

Frank just wouldn't be able to find the finish line in this one......nor reach it.

 

I actually think a prime Bruno would have a better chance over 10 rounds as he may not be too gassed in a shorter fight, thus remaining live and dangerous throughout. I can see Bruno messing GF’s face up on his way to a points win in a shorter fight. Though 10 rounds could still be too long knowing Frank!

But the OP says 12 rounds and those extra 6 minutes is all the time Foreman would need to catch a tiring and gassed out Bruno and stop him in the 12th.

 

He would flatten Bruno, like you say, those sly, devastating uppercuts he threw would stiffen Bruno up and leave him ripe for a haymaker, Bruno is made to order for Foreman.

Only Gerrie Coetzee who never really got going as Bruno blasted him out early. And I guess Jumbo Cummings was a fair hitter aswell.

 

As for this match up I feel like Bruno would pelt Foreman with his telephone pole jab, and occasional long right hands. Foreman would be pretty busted up and behind on points, but I see Foreman eventually catching up to Bruno and stopping him.

A problem I see in this match up for Bruno aswell, is that Bruno in his 2nd career liked to grab on to try and survive. I don't see that working against the incredibly physically strong Foreman on inside.

Overall the only realistic chance I see for Bruno winning this fight, is if the fight was scheduled for 10 rounds. Then theres a chance maybe just maybe Bruno can make the finish line, but overall I just don't see Bruno making it till the end. Although I think he would be ahead on points up until stoppage.

 

Damn a lot of you aren't giving Bruno much of a chance at all. I was going to try and vouch for him since he had that excellent heavy jab and textbook fundamentals with the upright British stance. I think he could pull off an upset if it's the Bruno who beat McCall. That version gives old Foreman some serious problems. That version of Bruno finally put it all together with his accumulative years of training, knowledge, and experience becoming a pretty damn good boxer puncher. I do agree he'd need to be 100% focused and in shape or Foreman would demolish him.

 

Bruno could shine when at his best. Problem is, Foreman was very resourceful and clever at that point of his career. He likely sneaks a bomb through, and Frank had no survival instinct to speak of.
