Very interesting fight. As is the Price fight.

Going on to see what Fury has become its easy to think he goes 2-0, given the way he has improved with the level of competition.

But I can see him easily going 0-2 if the fights were made when they were supposed too.

I think the Haye one, the second pull out was when he ****ed his shoulder and he was never the same again

Or rather that's what you would have wanted to see.

Days from 2023, and people have been forced into reconstructing certain events because Fury has conquered all. The same people refuse to acknowledge that Fury rises to the occasion and does not simply roll out the same level of performance every time. There is no way that Fury would have lost to a domestic level chinless stiff robot who runs out of puff when in the red zone in Price. Haye manufactured a plan to pull himself out of the Fury bouts as his ego could not take the beating that was waiting for him. Haye was beaten by a midget in Carl Thompson and struggled with the likes of Mormeck and Fragomeni. He did nothing at heavyweight and landed only one punch one Valuev who had just been awarded a gift decision over a forty-six year old Holyfield.

"never was the same again" - heard this many times regarding Haye, Joshua and even Price. The fact is that some boxers find their level and of course they are "never the same again" when they actually fight decent opponents.

Fury is a boxing legend and the others are not even close.

It's interesting because Tyson was uppercutting his own face off and wasn't viewed as somone who was good tbh. If Haye wouldn't have got him out early then Tyson would have took over. I give Haye 4-5 rounds to do the job, but his cardio would have been his downfall. Tyson was a very live underdog at the time. Price, at that time, would have beaten him.

Haye was and always be very overated on here. A top 5 cruiserweight, with that athleticism and great power that worked at heavyweight. But he never fought anyone good at heavyweight. In a dog fight against a much bigger fighter he gets chewed up.

I certainly viewed Haye as a favourite at the time. Fury has shown he could be hurt and I assumed Haye would land the right hand and chin him.

Having seen what Fury has done afterwards has definitely made me question my thinking.

I think Fury was green back then but perhaps fought to the level of his opponent. I agree that after 4 rounds Haye isn’t winning that fight and given how elusive Fury became afterwards I have a hard time seeing Haye land the shot. Haye was dangerous, but only when he had no fear of what was coming back.

I don't buy the "what he did afterwards" as you can only go on what happened at the time, because nobody in British boxing could have predicted his success. It's not even about elusive, as Tyson wasn't elusive. Haye was more elusive due to his incredible head movement yet I wouldn't have felt comfortable betting on Haye to win that fight.

Was a big Haye fan back in the day. At the time I thought he’d win (and I watched every Tyson Fury fight too) but it’s hard to make a case for it now. Fury would’ve won pretty comfortably.

“Conquered all” and “boxing legend”is a fantastical way to describe someone with such a chequered history safin. He’s done well considering all the controversy/problems that have plagued his career and that’s about it.don’t see the need to proclaim him as something he clearly isn’t.

He failed a test. So he was at it when he won the belts.

A thread about Fury, Haye and Price and yet some posters still have to mention Joshua in every post. There’s obviously some element of obsession going on.

I have said this many times. Safin and his boyfriends are obsessed with Josh.

Fury is the best heavyweight out t
I think that’s a fair comment. Timing is important, and styles do make fights. Fury has developed into a great fighter and earlier choices in his career have not hindered his record. McDermott beat Fury in the first fight, no doubt about it. This shows there was weakness and flaws in Fury’s boxing. So the case for Price to have beat Fury is not unimaginable. Ifs,buts and maybes I know, but to think that Fury would of beat everyone regardless, is just not realistic.
Just touching on the subject of Joshua. I think Joshua gives Fury a real tough, hard night. AJ comes in for some stick, unwarranted imo. He is one hell of a fighter, regardless of losses to Usyk and Ruiz.

He did fight someone good at heavyweight in 2011 but made zero attempt to win.
