Marga would never catch floyd like he did cotto.... i believe we would see a match alot like floyds fight against corales....perhaps without the knockdowns.........but he would pick him apart......
I wouldn't go so far as to call Ringini an "idiot", but his statement is unfounded. The difference between Corrales and Margarito is enormous. The only similarity is that they're both tall. Margarito is bigger, stronger, hits harder, throws straighter punches, and takes punches much better than Chico. But the point is moot anyway. Floyd turned down 8 mil to fight Antonio before, and Mayweather hasn't got any braver since then. He's gotten more snotty and arrogent, but not braver. But I'm not saying Tony is a sure winner in a Floyd fight either. Just that we'll see ice skating in Hades before we'd see a Mayweather-Margarito fight.
Too bad we can't see it to belive it. Mayweather is making sure all the fans will give him a victory by saying who he would easily beat, instead of proving it in the ring and actually making a legacy for himself. Unfortunately for his fans he cares more about money than pride.
If I played the (winning) Lotto numbers printed in the newspaper the day after.. On the actual day, Then I would be a millionaire. (Then again, I don't buy ticket's)
It might if Marg makes more noise and does more. I think Cotto was a better fighter to come back for had he won...and was still undefeated.
Corrales was nothing like Margarito. For starters Margarito is far bigger than Corrales was. And I mean just in strength and mass. Secondly Corrales was more about throwing with power and boxing, yes, boxing. He didn't like throwing in numbers and he didn't like taking 3 to land 1. He was very precise about getting his shots off inside and depended on you falling in or making a mistake. And Corrales did not have Margarito's chin. If you think Margarito is going to respect Mayweather's power you are sadly mistaken. Little Floyd is gonna be in run mode, all night. He's not gonna stand there and take those punches on his elbows and on his forearms/gloves. He's gonna run. And he's probably gonna lose rounds because of it. Anytime he stops to throw he's gonna give Margarito that shot at his ribcage. That digging left hook to the body will be on display all night. Just watch how Margarito manages to trap Cotto throughout that fight. He didn't follow him around. He cut him off by stepping to his right all night long. Again, Margarito is not old man Baldomir. He makes 147 fine and has the energy to chase you down for 12 rounds. So no, don't go there.
i give floyd a slim edge only because he can win a fight by fighting in a punch, hold and run strategy. but if you think you've seen floyd cry, this fight will push him to hysterics, win or lose.
