Who would take this? both have flaws, it would be interesting to see this fight that would make a lot of sense.
I think Filip stops him late. Has the chin to withstand what would be coming at him and obviously the power to hurt Ajagba. I also think his jab would be key. IMO he’s going to come back stronger and better after that Zhang fight.
Ajagba unlike Zhang isn't much of the counter puncher so won't have an answer to Hrgovic's aggression and get backed up, beaten up and broken down, then stopped.
While he beat Shaw fairly handily, Ajagba clearly struggles with slick movers and counter punchers. He has a tendency to be extra cautious and doesn't want to overcommit, because he doesn't want to run into anything like he did with Sanchez. Not that he's ever been badly hurt by the two knockdowns he's suffered, but still... who likes getting knocked down? It stings his pride, so he'd rather not risk it. So I don't think anyone should read anything into those two performances. If Ajagba could've landed cleanly and consistently on Shaw or Sanchez, he'd have certainly knocked them both out. However none of that matters here, because Filip isn't slick or much of a counter puncher himself. So he'll definitely have to be cautious in his approach early, he certainly can't bumrush him, because if Ajagba loads up on a counter right, it can and will do serious damage. Now, onto Hrgovic's struggles against Zhang, much of that had to do with his southpaw stance, he was a sitting duck for his right hook. Filip won't be the first or last guy to struggle with a southpaw. So again, that doesn't matter here. So what we have is two guys who pack enough of a punch to take out fringe guys, but might not have the power to put the lights out of the elite or land consistently enough on slicksters to take them out. So we might end up getting a hyper cautious Ajagba vs. a hyper cautious Htgovic, but since Hrgovic has a better amateur pedigree and is a little more versatile, while still being fairly one dimensional, in all likelihood, he either wins via a close UD or late stoppage, possibly having to pick himself up from the canvass in the process.
