Fury may not have one punch KO power but he's finished his last 4 fights inside the distance. He pushes his weight through the target to get them off balance. That's where he deals the damage.

It would be a really interesting fight if he were to box Usyk like the Tyson of old, but he might not be able to do that anymore. He's getting long in the tooth, looks like he might be slowing down, and his style now probably gives him more longevity.

There's no way Joshua will beat him, he'd cack his pants the second Fury starts walking him down.

 

Has just enough power to damage anyone badly and combined with his other skills, it's dangerous enough. But whatever, power isn't everything, Ali has a KO ratio of 60%.

I believe Chisora was mocking at Pulev's power in their first fight, but ended up in a hospital. And Chisora himself may have some power, he lacks almost everything else to be a class fighter. Wilder was claiming Fury has pillows for fists, but it was his ear and ass that were bleeding for two fights.

Fury is feather fisted for his size. Everyone knows this.

 

He's probably going to be the biggest contributor to Derek Chisoras future mental degeneration.

 

Chisora is such trash. I hope somebody really seals the deal on that idiots career in his next fight. Just brutally gets rid of him.

Let’s hope Briedis gets that opportunity. Because he’s the guy for that job.

 

He knows what power is from getting ko'd by Wlad in sparring. That is why he avoids it like the plague in sanctioned fights.

 

He should be, he is probably going to fight him another handful of times rather than actual contenders.

 

Wilder has no defense though and gasses out after 2 or 3 rounds...he was absorbing a lot of Fury's punches because his head movement/defense/stamina is such ****. Not a good example to go by. Fury couldn't knock out the Swedish Fish, enough said.

 

No one has KO'd Wallin in 26 fights as a pro, or even dropped him. Joshua and Whyte (or their teams) are avoiding him. So not stopping Wallin doesn't say a huge amount. Wlad and Lewis failed to stop some suspect characters, significantly easier to drop and stop than Wallin.

Wilder's stamina was fine until he fought Fury and it will be fine against AJ-conqueror Ruiz. Wilder's chin and defence also held up pretty well in 42 of his 43 fights prior to Fury 2, including against big punchers Stiverne and Ortiz.

 

Fury’s power: the empirical facts

1. 22 year old, 261 lbs Fury rendered the 13-0 Nascimento (235 lbs, dropped him in the 1st) unconscious in the 5th and is the only fighter to KO him cold in 40 fights. Nascimento went on to go the distance with Kuzmin, Chisora, Duhaupas and Wach among others

2. 24 year old Fury burst the eardrums of the 35-0 fringe contender Scott (226 lbs) in sparring, one of them with a right hook and Scott stated that he’d never suffered a broken eardrum prior to that

3. 24 year old, 254 lbs Fury is the only fighter to KO the 2x IBF cruiserweight champion Cunningham (210 lbs, heavy KD and stayed down for the count in the 7th, never quit before or since in 40 fights), doing so away from home

4. 26 year old, 264 lbs and 260 lbs Fury beat down and retired highly durable, non-shopworn versions of Vitali world title challenger Chisora (242 lbs, never quit before or since in 46 fights) and gatekeeper Hammer (248 lbs, dropped him in the 5th) in the 10th and 8th rounds respectively while boxing on the backfoot

5. 31 year old, 273 lbs Fury had the 5 year reigning, 10 consecutive defence, 42-0-1 WBC heavyweight champion Wilder (231 lbs) legitimately on the canvas three times (twice in the 3rd, once in the 5th) prior to the 7th round TKO, had Wilder bleeding profusely from his left ear and is the only fighter to KO/TKO him in 46 fights, doing so twice away from home and as the B-side. Fury hit Wilder so hard that Wilder accused him of loading his gloves with metal objects

6. Fury often doesn’t commit to his punches and boxes defensively on the backfoot, has been happy to go rounds or even the distance to mitigate risk and reduce damage taken (and sometimes to gain match fitness, experience or play possum, reducing the motivation of future opponents and increasing underestimation, while putting pressure on the opponent not to get KO’d by a “non-puncher”) and has frequently gone into fights underprepared

7. Fury (202 cm.) has a 71% KO ratio across 28 fights against 215+ lbs opponents: better than Bakole, Whyte and Ruiz (not to mention Frazier, Shavers and Bowe) despite facing higher quality and more durable opposition, under less favourable conditions (away from home, B-side) and turning pro at 20 after only 35 amateur bouts

 

Before Fury, Wilder's resume was absolute dog****, he faced tomato cans. You can throw out that resume right away, no need to even mention it. Wallin is a nobody, if Fury's power was as good as his fanboys claim he should have been able to knock him out. But we all know, Fury's KO power is not that great. Recently he's knocked out a gassed Wilder and Whyte, hardly impressive considering they both have no defense or great stamina/head movement. Fury has no chance of knocking out the slick Usyk...

 

I see Fury as an Ali type - when they sit down on their punches, they can hurt a guy and get them in trouble, but they don't crack hard enough to put someone out with one or two shots.


It's not gonna matter when Fury splatters him.

The more I think about this fight, the worse it looks for my man Usyk, I am concerned he may get hurt.

But David slayed Goliath. Usyk can do it & I will certainly be cheering him on!
