Ive met and trained with a quite a few travellers through the amateurs, many of them were sound people. Good and bad everywhere in all walks of life

Yeh we have a few traveller kids in our juniors session now, they’re polite and respectful and put the effort in. They’re training with local kids, couple of Asian lads recently moved to uk and a growing number of Ukrainian refugee kids. They’re all just people, and like most boxing gyms people’s ethnicity etc Is irrelevant when they’re all together. Used to train myself with a couple of traveller lads who were proper polite and sound. I’ve trained with others who I didn’t like so much, but like you said that was know different to the local community most are sound but a few are nobheads.

Shame people still think in sweeping prejiduces like this.

 

People with reputations turn out much different when you meet them.

Once had a pint in a hotel bar with Joe Egan, a hard man with a serious reputation.

Very hard to dislike the guy based on the hour spent chatting to him.
