Those guys that go in, try their heart out, but still get beaten.? Danny Williams against Vit Klitschko Johnny Owen V lupe Pintor(RIP) Don Cockell v Marciano Chris Finnegan
Hide v Bowe, he didn't do bad at all to start with did Herbs, but big Daddy was just to much for him. But he kept jumping up!
Farr v Louis. How mad is that, him going 15 with joe, when we know what happened to most of his opponents!
Even after the multiple KD's had started, Hide still troubled Bowe with his movement, handspeed and I dare I say it, even a little with his power. He just couldnt hold Bowe's shots. Bowe didnt need to land clean or even with full leverage, to drop and hurt Herbie. Hide was very talented, but his chin was diabolical at HW.
Yep, that's what let him down, the chin. And against a guy like Bowe or Klitscko, he was always gonna get hammered.
Yes. That takes some courage. I've said it before, Duran coming out for round two v Hearns was brave beyond belief. To know you're in for a pasting and still show willing - like many 'journeymen' routinely do - takes guts like I'll never know. Fair play Richard Dunn. How about big Frank against Tyson second time around. Frank was terrified but he went in and took his lumps and got a fearful beating. Stayed on his feet though and made Seldon's quit job look even worse tan it was, if such a thing were possible. Shout out to Michael Watson vs Mike McCallum.
No brave Brits in title challenge would be complete without Mills v Lesnevich, in a brutal encounter Mills climbed of the canvas no less than 4 times, twice in the 2nd. and twice in the 10th, at which stage the ref had seen enough, Mills was truly a brave and fearless fighter, who nether knew when he was beaten, so sad his life after boxing was fraught ill health, accusations, and a rather strange death. stay safe buddy.
