I agree, Margo would just manhandle Cotto if he tired to clinch.

I was amazed at how Cotto crumbled. He out boxed Margarito for the first five or six rounds then the tank seemed to empty; I thought some of his skills on the counter were eye-catching and must have scored points. But the truth is they didn't stop Margarito - remember the big smile at the end of round two? Maybe just symptomatic of pummelling a guy who just won't budge, taking a few and then losing the will to go on?

I also agree that Cotto would be mad to go straight to a rematch. Surely his handlers wouldn't allow that to happen?

Great fight and I'm honest enough to say that I got the outcome wrong by a f*ckin' mile!!! (Thankfully too close to pay day to have wasted money on a bet! Phew!!)

I was surprised at the punishment Cotto was able to take from margo. Cotto's ability to take his shots. I thought Cotto would be wobbled and finished by the 7th- 8th round. Cotto has been hurt from much lesser punchers and I figuered margo would get him sooner.

. . . it was Margo who was warned for low blows and not Cotto as some dumb posters here are saying Cotto would resort to if he's in trouble.

Eat your shits out . . . ****ers!

:rofl  :rofl  :rofl  :rofl  :rofl

The thing I was surprised the most about the fight was Cotto not being able to do his normal amount of body work. I thought it wouldn't have been too much of a problem working Margarito's body, but I was dead wrong.

What surprised me most was that this outcome seem to be such a controversial one !

Sure, Cotto is the more skilled boxer, no doubt, but if your chin is that much worse than your opponent´s, your skill has to be that much better.

Margaritos skills were way deferiror, his hand speed wasn´t close to Cotto´s,
but still he managed to pressure Cotto to the point where he had to crumble.

Margarito shouldn´t be over- or under estimated, but he´s an odd fighter to face, and many fighters have avoided him for this reason.

Why do they have to be lying...there were two plausible outcomes to this fight. Cotto would outclass Marg and may even stop him or Marg would land somthing big and stop Cotto. So friends and I were making bets during the fight and I was backing Marg. They thought Marg would be stopped by the 6 and said "yeah but all it takes is one punch to change the entire fight" And that did happen. Thats exactly what I thought would happen before the fight then as I was watching the fight I started thinking well if Marg keeps getting hit like this he will either get stopped or he might lose the power knock Cotto out. But I stuck with what I said before the fight cause you just can't flip flop like that and it turns out that is exactly what happened...

Everything happened just like how I thought it would I always though Margarito is the guy capable of finishing Cotto once he hurt him with uppercuts just like I also predicted.

I was surprised that Margarito took all of Cotto's best punches and still kept coming ..:admin

I agree with you here based on how many shots Cotto took from round #1 on. Going in I did not think Cotto would be hit so often so early. Even though Cotto was landing @ will in the opening rounds, he was taking some good ones in return and Marg. just gets stronger and stronger.

Correct. Marg did land some low ones, I forget which round it was, maybe 5 or 6 but Cotto took a strong one right to the package and it hurt him a bit but the ref. did not do anything. I don't think those shots helped Cotto's cause any. Maybe if he did a Zab Judah and fell over as if shot he would have been more competitive in the end.

What surpised me was that Cotto didn't go to the body and that he didn't try to clinch when Marg was getting the better of him a very basic mistake. I knew Marg could take shots to the dome so that was no surprise.

I have to admit. I was also surprised. I didn't expect Margarito to be stopped or knocked down but damn, I was at least expecting him to get wobbled like he did by Clottey. Even if it was a split second.
