Holyfield was hitting harder with his intentional headbutts. As if being juiced to the gills wasn't a big enough advantage the Real deal ended up being a Real Cheater.

 

I still think Tyson had better power I don't think Holyfield would have finished Seldon or Bruno as fast as Tyson did.

 

I don't think any version of Holyfield could hit harder than Tyson. First of all Tyson's hands were faster even post prison and he was the more naturally heavy handed of the two. Force is mass x speed so Tyson is ahead of him automatically by default. In addition to that Tyson was simply the better overall puncher in terms of delivering knockout blows and putting your weight into a shot.

Foreman was asked about Hoylfield's punching power and said it was roughly the same as Ali's, but Hoylfield tended to sit down on his punches more. Point being, there is no way Hoylfield hit as hard, let alone harder than Tyson if he's comparable to Ali or he'd have way more KOs. Holyfield still needed 11 rounds to stop a past his prime Tyson. There are quite a few heavyweights who went the distance with Hoylfield without even taking a knee despite Hoylfield landing a barrage of flush Sunday punches and combinations. In his prime, with equal audio pick ups for his opponent, Prime Tyson’s punches sounded like no other, imo. We can accent on the contribution of Mike’s speed, accuracy and punching in combination all day long - but the man still had serious one shot power.

Think it's a case of the better placed shots tbh.
He'd lost a fair bit of what he'd had, before prison, had Tyson.
I thing he just went in expecting, or rather hopeful, that Holyfield crumbled.
He really underestimated Holyfield, he wasn't as good as ten years previously, so he lost to the better, more prepared fighter.
