Yeah I'm not a big mail fan either, Robert Smith quoted saying the board didn't have the mythical document makes me believe it more, you'd think if it contained anything pointing to it all being some unfortunate misunderstanding they'd at least give it to ukad if not the board.

The procedures really need tightened up with clear transparency between all related bodies.

Benn and any others in similar circumstance should be hit with a default ban for life from date of failed test with the right of an appeal hearing to be heard within a maximum period of 6 months.

Plenty of time for evidence to be submitted by defendant, the arranging of such hearing with the ban either upheld or amended then line firmly drawn.

This long drawn out legal process is not good for fighters or the reputation of the sport of boxing.

It is indeed. Riath Al Sammarai their main sports writer is a really good journalist though. So is Oliver Holt the football writer. I read the sports section when I go to Tesco as I'm a tramp

They appear to be ignoring the board completely and perhaps UKAD as well, send their appeal to the WBC and then use their verdict as a way of declaring victory?

Said this for ages, he will never have a UK license again and has 0 interest in a board hearing

Or he will go back in a couple of years or when any ban if it was given would have been finsihed. They will use the threat of a prolonged legal battle which Matchroom can fund but BBBoC or UKAD cant afford to get UKAD and/or BBBoC to agree a backdated ban which he will have theoritically served. Benn and MR will try to sell this to the public as purely an administrative issue and not an admission of guilt. Exactly like the Fury's did. The Casual fan wont really care as they only want to see exciting fights and its the casual fan that really controls the influence of boxing as they bring the cash. Its a sad state of affairs tbh.

The bit I'm notnsure on, if he has boxed in the interim then the ban might be issues if he ever went back to the board from his last fight night?

Possibly thats true but if he fights outside UK or not under jurisidiction of BBBoC MR legal could try to argue no case to answer. Its all BS though it will come down to MR trying to coerce and intimidate UKAD or board with threat of a prolonged legal battle.

Yeah their entire plan is to muddy everything and force everything into a courtroom.

The guys a blatant drugs cheat.

There is a huge argument for me, Eddie Hearn should have his promoters license torn up

Spot on..this is what the Fury family did. I'd genuinely forgot that. They paid a farmer £25k to lie too!

I'm really not assed about Benn being geared off his nut.

So many are, but it's after play that makes it so wrong

Imagine if it was Benn that flattened Eubank Jnr, perhaps leaving him with serious life changing injuries similar to Eduard Gutknecht, then the failed test details came out post fight.

That scenario is what needs to be at the forefront of the minds of the public and all bodies responsible for the oversight of dealing with drugs cheats.

One day this will happen then they will find out all about duty of care and legal financial ruin.

The thing is i largely believe people are too harsh on promoters, its kind of their job to be a hypocrite.

Like Hearn and Warren were spouting how Quigg would destroy Frampton and vice verse then when they switched magically their opinions changed. Its annoying but i get it they arent gonna come out and say yeah my guy will be flattened but think of the cash.

However when a promoter is willingly trying to undermine the very sport and credentials they make their living from at the detriment of another human being its too much. Like mentioned before Hearn thought nothing on not telling Rivas camp about Whyte abnormal test (parking what you think about whytes drug history aside and opinions about a b samples), it was morally wrong. I couldnt imagine hom having the same opinion of the AJ vs Miller fight had happened and Miller won and it only came out after that Miller had failed a test.
