There’s talks about this fight happening, so it most likely won’t. However, if it does take place soon, I fully expect Vergil to put a pounding on one of the most overrated fighters in history. Whose with me?:boxing1

I don't know how old you are but judging by the intelligence shown in many of your posts I would guess you've been a boxing fan for quite awhile. With that being said, I am not sure why you believe Crawford to be so overrated. I think that, much like Naoya Inoue and Gennady Golovkin, quality names on his resume may be lacking but, also like Golovkin and Inoue, he definitely passes the eye test. Watching a fighter is what I trust the most when forming my opinions and I think Crawford is intelligent, powerful, talented and ruthless. I am curious as to why you think he is so overrated.

Im with you bro, but the fight will most likely not happen. Crawford will most likely fight Rocha next, then on to a Spence fight later this year hopefully. Ortiz has been a legit mando for quite some time and Crawford has yet to even entertain the idea of fighting him, it must be because hes a legit threat and as a WW Crawford has yet to fight a really dangerous opponent.. fighting Spences left overs is meh to me.

Crawford doesnt back himself against top top opposition. Hes not as dog as people think he is, a very skillful fighter though witth great timing. I think spence would have outfought him.

    Ortiz can get him.

He’s overrated because everyone acts like he’s top 3 p4p. There was actually a period where he was considered #1 despite not having the resume to back it up. I’ve always felt that guys like GGG and Inoue could hang with top guys, never felt that way about Crawford. Of course I could be wrong, but I’m going with Vergil.

Fair enough. I would love to see he and Ortiz get in a ring together.

This Vergil Ortiz guy looks like a good fighter for sure, no idea if he would beat Crawford however. Would be nice if it gets made but Crawford won't and shouldn't fight for any peanuts.

I guess I'm old school. To me, a fighter is only as good as their resume. Who did you beat?

it would be the biggest crawford fight to date. ortiz is stepping into his prime and is a nightmare style. he will force bud to answer lots of questions. i like his chances, as i also believe bud is not as good as advertised at welter.

This. Why should Crawford be the heavy favorite? Because he beat Shawn Porter? Really?

Ortiz himself certainly isn’t with you, given the fact that he opted to go after the WBA regular belt instead of WBO even though he’s rated #1 by both and could’ve easily become Crawford’s mandatory.

Mandatory position means nothing in today’s boxing. Ortiz could force the fight all he wants and Crawford would still cherry pick as he pleases with zero repercussions. Vergil has been happy to fight everyone put in front of him so far, I’m sure he believes in himself.
