Alright, I'll give Navarrete props; he had the same fun fight against someone his own size that I always said he could only have against smaller guys. I still think his lack of defense got exposed and it will cost him against stiffer comp, but credit where credit is due. Damn Nava has stamina.

But let's be honest; Wilson screwed himself by letting Nava off the hook. Should have pounced on him after knocking him down and finished him. Instead he let him back in the fight and this is the result.

Navarrete isn’t the most skilled guy but Christ that dude has balls of steel. They’re just different down there.

Great learning experience for Wilson though he didn't have the experience at that level to keep it up.

Could have taken a point but he didn't give him a rinse or anything.

Navarrete is definitely relentless once he has his opponent going, still his style has a short shelf life and at this weight I expect him to lose pretty soon given he was pushed to the brink by Wilson tonight

:deal: Even though I picked Navarrete by KO, it was with great hesitation. I fully expected him to be exposed as the weight bully he is, and have a few rough moments. His power was less than impressive at 126, I figured it would all but vanish at 130, and it did. Thankfully for him, Liam was brought in because he's packing some serious glass, but even then... it took him 9 goddamned rounds to get him out of there.

Great fight. Wilson really started to fade during those last few rounds but he fought really well and was game as a Brit. The ref definitely saved Navarette from a KO loss with that 100 count though. Navarette was badly hurt and that time he gave him was crucial. Needs his licence revoked.

Navarrette is a knockout waiting to happen. Soon as a seasoned fighter with some skill get in there, it's a done deal.

Short shelf life? He’s got 38 fights over 10 years.

I totally agree. Navarette was done, then the ref practically gives him a half hour to recover. Wilson had him.

Yep if Wilson was from New South Wales his chin would’ve held up and he would’ve won.
