SRL’s legacy if he’d lost to Hagler and Hearns.

He also had a close one vs Maidana in their 1st fight, I think Maidana has a strong case for a draw atleast. And I don't know the details, but I've heard Mayweather took banned fluids vs Pacquiao. Would that have been a no contest ? I'm not sure as I don't know the details.

But again I don't like to create fantasy scenarios, the fact is Mayweather is 50-0 and Leonard is 36-3 end of.

I think if Leonard had lost to Hearns and Hagler, but still beaten Benitez and Duran, his legacy would be seen more or less as Hearns is now, who also Benitez and Duran but did lose to Leonard and Hagler.

I don't feel a close loss to Hagler would damage his legacy too much, as we have seen on this thread, many people still feel Hagler won. To come out of retirement and fight a close points decision with an ATG is not a result to be ashamed of. Also perhaps if Leonard had lost Hearns I he may have been more focused for revenge in Hearns II, as Tommy was, and won it!

I honestly don't feel at this point in history any of the four kings records and legacies would be altered too much by a different loss or win to any other of the other four. I think they are all viewed as legends who took part in thrilling fights and fought the best, win or lose, so it is a fun but academic exersize.

So in a nutshell if you support the fighter you see all his close losses as wins and if you don't favour them you see all their close wins as losses, right?

What would Michael Jordan's legacy be if he went 4-2 in the Finals instead of a perfect 6-0.?

Hagler did beat him. In order to take the belt of the champ, you need to beat the champ, Leonard didn't do that. He won rounds by shoe shinning at the end. Shoe shinning and tappy taps win amateur fights, not pro ones, punches need to do damage.

Thankfully you don't run pro boxing nor have any say in it.

It’s very typical for a “hardcore” to always dispute close fights as definite robberies to seem more in though. Judging is objective due to the somewhat loose parameters.

No, i like Hagler more than Leonard but thought Ray won. Marv was very disappointing that night for me.

Matter of factly, as far as the Hagler fight, 14-year-old me, having Leonard's address cause it appeared on The Ring Record Book's promoters, managers and trainer's addresses section, took it upon herself to write Leonard a letter begging him to cancel this fight. I was worried about his health! (The letter went unanswered, of course, lol!)

I'm glad it did not go the way I thought it was going to go!

(Joe Frazier's address was also listed in fact!)
