If you could delete a fight from a favorite boxers legacy, which fight would it be?

    Andy Lee vs Saunders.

I have no doubt Lee would have jumped into the ring with GGG after that fight. Instead, we got years of everyone playing GGG is lava.

I would delete Duran's "No Mas" fight and only that one. The other losses, fighting on way too long, that's who he was and part of what makes him great.

The No Mas loss is a cul-de-sac in history because Duran was very tough in difficult victories and defeats before and after that night plus Leonard would still have his revenge in the "third" fight. No one could seriously claim Duran would consistently beat Leonard at 154 and above.

Clearly there was something wrong that night, be it stomach cramps, mental health, who knows? But it's a smudge on the history.

I want to keep them! Daring to be great, showing up for their fans, that's the legacy of both SRR and Duran.

Now maybe in hindsight we could have SRR choose a softer touch or a better ventilated venue (if you want to believe the heat sickness excuse), but keep the attempt at LHW!

If Pac never fought Mayweather, that question mark would loom larger than any victory in his resume.

They'd be another Spence and Crawford, shitty as it was that fight cemented both their legacies.

This makes sense because if that fight got canceled no one would be sitting here like "you can't rate Tyson because he never fought Douglas."

So if you delete the fight you make the world make more sense, and the fight is OK but the only thing special is the upset.

But Trinidad vs Vargas is a great fight! I'd rather keep that fight and remove several entire careers that don't match up to it.

    The last Gatti Ward too.

It could have been a greater fight had Vargas had a couple more fights to prepare for titos experience. He did very well and was winning the fight at one point, but the veteran tactics tito used (low blows) took alot out of Vargas' ability to use his legs more, making him an easier target for Titos big blows down the stretch of the fight. Great fight but that took alot out of Vargas.

Hmmmm. Even though it wasn't a clear loss (I still don't believe he deserved to lose his belts) I'd say Haglers loss to SRL. I respect the hell out of SRLs skills, but he was the original diva deck stacker, and it annoys me and will annoy me forever that he has a win on his record over the marvelous one.

Jones/Tarver 1. Then there would be no Jones/Tarver 2 or 3, and no Jones/Johnson. Roy would've retired after Ruiz if he didn't get Evander or Tyson smh

I originally thought that when I read the title, but in a weird way the Douglas loss adds to the legacy now

To play devil's advocate I wish castillo got the decision vs Floyd

Without the zero Floyd would have absolutely nothing to protect and fought everyone

He already has a great resume, but a loss would have done him wonders and he would have had a greater career imo

I'm going to cheat and pick 2 defeats

    Tyson vs Williams and mcbride
He should not have an L next to his name with those bums

Ray Mancini vs Duk Koo Kim. Aside from Kim losing his life, his mother and the referee both committed suicide after the fight. Ray went into a deep depression and was never the same as a fighter.

Aside from the personal tragedies the sport was forever changed as 15 round title fights were done away with and replaced with 12 rounders.

Larry Holmes to Michael Spinks as he would of been 49-0 and equalled Marciano's record.

Juan Manuel Marquez to Mayweather as then Marquez would have no convincing losses on his record.

Pernell Whitaker to Felix Trinidad again he would have no convincing losses on his record.

Muhammad Ali to Larry Holmes Ali didn't deserve to have his only stoppage loss in a fight like this.

Michael Spinks to Mike Tyson mostly casuals only remember his loss to Tyson, and forget he was one of the greatest Light Heavyweights of all time.
