Adam smith seems a good boxing man,yes his commentary at times was over board, but he is/was knowledgeable, much prefer him over a bellew
Whenever have saw him interviewed he will always give opinions on bt's or dazn cards rather than pretending there not happening
Wish him well, seems a genuine guy

    Ye I like Dev too.

Smith has a good voice and does have a good way of presenting. Only thing is is if you've heard him once uv heard him a thousand times.
I do think he has a real passion for the sport tho and I do think that all round he's a nice decent guy. Also echo the concerns an earlier poster had about the unfair names he gets called. He does have a family and its downright nasty what is said

I get why people criticised Adam Smith and he could be bias but honestly what do you expect from a man whose job it is to promote boxing on sky. Like you wouldnt turn up at your job and start putting down the place in front of your bosses and customers, clients etc

He’s alright Adam, loves his boxing seems a nice guy, can be biased at times but other times extremely fair, some cracking partridge style moments, nerves of steel when tables are flying past his head.

Don’t really get the serial killer etc jokes, doesn’t come across sinister at all to me, just one of those **** Twitter crazes that everyone jumps on and puts in a comment,

Well said, he is obviously going to back his own fighters.

However he also comments on fights that are with different broadcasters and you can tell he's genuinely excited about a fight even though he might have nothing to do with it.

In interviews he always come across as professional, not bitter and clearly loves boxing. I like the fact he took the moral high ground and didn't get into any tit for tat with Hearn after their split, just tried to concentrate on growing the Boxxer/Sky partnership.
As a commentator though, he would have been much better if he just dialled it down a bit with the overboard praising and waxing lyrical about fighters and bringing up their personal struggles during the fight. He could also do with acknowledging the opponents work.

how about just call the action straight, like what used to happen before these promoter-broadcaster propaganda partnerships started appearing

Why not have 15 round fights ? Why not have no subs in football ? Why dont we have only 3 weight divisions ? Times change if you dont like it watch it with sound off

I wasn't a fan of his commentating but we all have our demons and I hope he can overcome his.

They are. Businesses decided to make a new product by getting in bed with promoters they decided the metric of success would be viewers. Its worked they have mpre people now than previously. Its was about revolutionising the sport some people may not like it but if most people are watching and it suits the business why wpuld tehy care about a small number of people.

Not what i said but i suspect you know that and choose to be deliberately obtuse. I said that this new format of promoters in partnership with broadcasters exclusivley (which can lead to accusations of bias commentating) is part of a bigger plan to increase viewership. Do you think tv companies are in the business of giving money away ?
