I was thinking of dusting off my TapOut shirt and heading out. Unfortunately I'm rostered on for the morning and the only bloke I can reasonably swap with is the Filipino who also likes his baxxin. If I do the shift I can purchase then PPV and make it home about an hour after the card kicks off and not miss much. Probably could catch myself up in between all the fluffing about.
The idea of jumping straight back into a cross-roads fight immediately after a defeat doesn't make any sense to me. Particularly after a kayo defeat in Liam Wilson's case. I know he did previously against Noynay but we all know that result was fishy. Boxing is about building up momentum & taking fights against live opposition when the time is right. Jumping straight back in against a live opponent after a defeat is a great way to pick up another one. If Liam Wilson does want to go again against a live opponent next up, what about Paul Fleming? Surely it makes sense for him to stay at Junior Lightweight given he weighed in almost at featherweight & has made a name for himself in that division. George would be too much for him at this stage. If he were to beat Fleming (which won't be straight-forward b/c Fleming has skills & can punch) he would be back near the front of the queue for a title shot at Junior Lightweight.
The PPV looks the way to go given how much a decent seat will cost. I know Beaver was keen to go to the fight but given how reluctant he is to put his hand in his pocket for PPVs he might be in for an unpleasant surprise when he tries to book seats. Front row ringside will set you back $5000. That's a lot to pay for getting Tony Harrison's blood sloshed all over you.
Yeah I like the idea of Wilson Fleming it would probably be easier for No Limit to make. Fleming is getting on in age so Wilson might be getting him at the right time but like you said Fleming is highly skilled and can punch I would give him a good shot at shattering Wilson's Queensland glass. In regards to Wilson Kambosos I was thinking more in regards to Kambosos as I see it as some what of an easy win for him. I think Top Rank has plans for Kambosos to fight Shakur which is a fight I do not like for George.
I think Flemo would be a fine choice of opponent. He is getting a bit long in tooth but he also knows it's now or never. Doesn't mind mixing it up which could work in Liam's favour or could see some QLD glass getting swept from the ring. At the very least makes for good viewing. Wilson says himself he needs these kinds of fights to get in the right mindset to train hard.
Wow thanks for the info Big Drama show. 2 of Montana's daddies duking it out for sole custody. Very tough fight for Steve. But he gets up for ones like this.
Valenzuela said he is apparently fighting on the Canelo Ryder card, so it makes sense for it to be Spark since Spark beat Montana Love who should have lost to Valenzuela really. If both Spark and Paro win their respective fights, I guess the plan would be to make Spark Paro in a big fight in Australia ? I heard it also could be Hitchins Valenzuela.
Heard that Huni may also be on the Canelo card too. Would be great to have two Aussies on the card for the event
Watching the DAZN show on Foxsports yesterday it occurred to me that we may still see the likes of Justis Huni & Jai Opetaia on Foxtel locally rather than on DAZN notwithstanding the fact that they may be signed with Fast Eddie (we know Justis has signed, watch this space on Jai). If it's a DAZN show overseas, Foxtel or Main Event can simply buy it the same way they can buy any other DAZN show & televise it locally. It could end up being a cosey arrangement between the broadcasters.
My wife asks me all the time why are we still paying for it, you've watched it twice. Seems I missed all the good shows & now just get re runs.
I think $4.50 for Harrison on points is to juicy to pass up. Definitely a risky fight for young Tim but a risk worth taking because if he can't beat Tony than Charlo the Smaller would have sent him to the shadow realm. He only needs a bank a victory free of controversy. I'm not really expecting a statement, as much as I'd like to see one.
