Generally finding fights for pros boils down to the promoter and the matchmaker. But how do amateurs find fights that will go on their record?

    Usually they fight through competitions.

As an amateur, you dont really go out anjd find fights. Its up to your gym or national association to organise fights.

The gym sign you up for a certain event or like when I fought amatures it was mostly tournaments and you fought whoever was in it, they have different classes for how many total fights you have so you fight somewhat on the same level.

Tournaments and events. At the amateur level few people will care about who they fight unless its a complete novice that can’t fight someone with 120 fights. There’s actually a local hw boxer who was good enough to go pro and has a lot if achievements, but said he prefers being able to fight the best in the amateurs as opposed to going pro and struggling to make good fights.

We actually do get fights organized with local fighters, but yeah, as other posters say, tournaments is where most amateur fights happen.

When I did amateur in the UK 14 years ago, the ABA clubs used a forum for matching up people for local shows. It’s just local trainers doing it for free for the community basically. Or it was in those days. Subs were very cheap so it couldn’t have been a profit making business.
