    Yeah I feel like they could have made a lot of money on the rematch if they had let it go, would have been worth it for the fighter.

    In hindsight the strategy bit him in the ass but man, imagine that had actually worked out for him and Ponce scored a shock KO1? That would've been career-making, easy to see why he opted for the gambit.

    Ponce was cooked, y'all. You'll note he didn't complain when his corner told him "we're done". He could have gone out and waged battle for a little while longer, but Matias had already won the war already and everyone in that ring knew it.

    Yeah, in the interview afterward he of course had to make the compulsory overtures that while he respects his corner's judgment it was against his wishes and he wanted to continue, but...in body language, volumes are spoken. He was relieved to be saved in the moment.

    I don't like reading into that too much. He said he wanted to continue. He has to take a flight back more than halfway around the world with his corner so he probably doesn't want to ***** about them on TV.
