Matías is a serious problem for any fighter and a wrecking machine. The guy just hurts every man he faces. Do you think he has a shot to beat the likes of Regis Prograis, Josh Taylor, Teofimo Lopez, or Alberto Puello and possibly become undisputed at 140?

TL - hell yes, I'd favor him outright.
    Rougarou - pick 'em.
TTT - a tall order, not impossible.

Yes he's a nightmare to fight and he has a horrible suffocating style that squeezes the resistance out of you bit by bit.

And even if, as we saw tonight, you roll up a newspaper and bop him on the snout, it won't make him go full beta dog - it just at best stalls him a little. He is extremely hard to game plan for.

Yeah. I actually genuinely feel sorry for his opponents because you can see they're struggling really hard to stay afloat for a number of rounds before they inevitably get drowned.

Is Prograis still in good form? I don't remember his last fight.

If so him vs Matias could be really explosive.

Matias is all wrong for Teofimo (who I am still holding a candle for in general, I have a little hope left he'll figure some stuff out and get back on track).

I am suspicious TTT is having weight problems, he's hitting that age and is gigantic for 140. Matias might be the one to expose a bad weight cut.

Hell yes, he is a hard night for any of those guys - obviously Taylor & Prograis give Matias a step up and things to solve he has never seen, but I think Matias beats Ramirez, and I wouldn't bet against him againts Prograis or Taylor either - especially the Taylor we saw against Catterall

Matias is a bad mutha****a, he definitely beat any of the top dogs at 140 pounds. Besides Prograis, Taylor and Lopez, I want to see him against the likes of Ergashev and Russell, which would be absolute bloodbaths. :chuck:

It’s not a given that he cleans out the division since he does have his flaws but you have to really fight like hell to beat him and it’s hard to see any fighters coming back out of the ring against him unscathed. 140 pounds just got a lot more exciting.

Josh Taylor is an old 32. He doesn't carry with him the same hunger into the ring as he did a few years ago. He keeps getting ran close by decent, but unspectacular fighters. He's there for the taking by a young hungry monster.

No and his style don't deserve to have even two belts.

Prograis right now will destroy every single top 10 guy at 140

What does his style have anything to do with deserving more than one belt? The guy has an exciting fan friendly style and always comes to slug it out. What’s not to like about it?
