At the beginning of July I’m going to visit my cousin in the USA. It’s gonna be very hot and we’re gonna spend a lot of time at the pool. So we’ve both agreed to get in shape so we both look shredded when we arrive at the pool. So I have 3 months to get in shape. We’ve both agreed to do 50 push ups, 50 sit ups, 50 squats and 3, 1 minute planks every single day until the holiday begins. No cheat days! I’m also gonna throw some heavy bag work in every couple of days as I want to start getting better at boxing. Does anybody know if this work out routine is a good one and do you guys know what sort of results we’ll get if we carry through with this?

I'm almost 60 and I was doing 1000 push ups every other day until I started going heavy with resistance bands and dumbbells. I was doing the pushups with a 40 pound weighted vest.

We have a saying. Abs are made in the kitchen. pushups, situps and squats are all fine, but you won't get shredded without a good nutritional program that'll take you to 15% body fat or lower.

I also recommend more diverse workouts than those three. You're missing pulling motions, so introduce pullups. You need more plyometric exercises to develop more athletic qualifies. Things like jump lunges and jump squats. And you definitely need cardio to burn more calories and maintain endurance to keep doing workouts.

There are all lots of types of ab workouts. Don't just do situps. You want to develop more of your abs, do various types of crunches that target all of your abs.
