That was amazing! I had Brunson as the favorite going in but was pleasantly surprised by Du Plessis's ability to scramble out of near-impossible positions, along with his heart and determination, which made it that much more impressive when he pulled out a dramatic win in an exciting and competitive, back and forth fight. Clearly the best base to start from with MMA. How far do you think he can go? I think regardless of talent level, he’s come in to the division at the right time. Whittaker, Vettori & Izzy will probably be closer to retirement by the time Nickal fights for a title. Torch bearers maybe. Pereira will definitely be at LHW by that time
It's truly hard to say at this point. As far as I know, Bo hasn't absorbed a significant strike. If his chin eventually proves to be sturdy, and his submissions improve, the sky is the limit. But, they might be rushing him.
