You know, my first thought was that this post is kind of stupid, but now that I think about it, I want to see what my pals from the site answer.

I find this really hard to answer, I idolised fighters when I was a kid then as I got older I tended to view the fighter by what they were like in real life aswell. Anyway, I am just gonna say Artur Beterbiev, closely followed by Usyk. Loma and GGG are favs. I like Tim Tszyu. Holyfield was a huge fav also during my teens. Kostya Tszyu aswell.

career highlights in chronological order for those who don't know him. Those alone can't fully explain why he's my favorite and neither can mere words.

I'm liking a lot of the picks I'm seeing. I expect to see a lot of Duran and Hagler mentions. Those were the two most popular fighters in the survey that happened a while ago.

    Wilfredo Gomez....

Technically he wasn't the best but growing up in Puerto Rico of the early 80s, there was a frenzy about him not matched until (I heard as by the Tito Mania I was already living it up in the wild 90s US) Felix Trinidad came along.

Plus, at that time pretty much everyone he touched was gone..pretty much everyone but of course, not everyone, cause I mean then he'd be perfect had he dropped everyone, and nobody is.

Even Salvador Sanchez said you can feel his punches.

Best fighter of his era win or lose, he came to scrap whether it was brawling or technique. Had a down period after so many classic wars and many wrote him off, but he came back to show his skill and expertise. I think he was screwed over against Diaz, Maidana and Garcia as he outboxed them all. But being an older warrior on the back end of his career, he wasn’t marketable.

I thought Roldan and, especially Hearns and Mugabi, were gonna chop his head off.

On the other hand, I thought he was gonna chop Leonard's head off.
Alas, I was between 11-14 then.

In my case, he is like wine: the more I age, the more of a favorite of mine he is.

In seven days it will the 60th anniversary of Muhammad Ali becoming my favorite fighter. To be fair, before that I did not have a favorite fighter. For the longest time I thought my top three were set in stone, Ali, Duran and Olivares. However, Manny Pacquiao made it all the way up to number two.
