It's curious how BoxRec is not updated yet on either fighter's page. Normally, when there is a confirmed bout next for a fighter, their name gets an asterisk on BoxRec with the fight date and the opponent displayed on their page.

I see people on the general forum getting awfully worked up about the Fury/Simon Jordan stuff.

Anyone who actually watches the clip can see it's a bit tongue-in-cheek from both sides. Loads of people on the general forum get so wound up by Fury - it's bizarre.

No mate we just have a different idea of patriotism. I think patriotism can be a good thing, its great for instance for me watching all our amateur boxers at an olympics hoping they bring home medals. I live in wales now and their is a real patriotic push to revive their language, a language that was almost forcibly pushed into extinction by the english ruling class, that patriotism is a positive ground up reaction to oppression.

"Patriotism" in the sense that you and jim are talking about seems to be a tool for controlling the masses and shutting down any dissents over elite interests, for instance dont think its good to send our young people to kill and die in an illegal war for profit, Unpatriotic! Question why we have to bow, scrape and pay a family millions of pounds a year, unpatriotic! Question why we have falling wages whilst the richest in society get richer, **** off the venezuala you commie!

To someone of my political persuasion (what youd maybe call a commie etc) Britain is the people, not a flag elites developed or licking the arseholes of one family who look down their noses on people. Its being proud that we developed an institution like the NHS after the war to provide healthcare to all (no matter how much its being rundown and dismantled now. "Patriotism" to yourself means just supporting anyone and any concept as long as its draped in a union jack and saying god save the queen, if thats the case then no im not patriotic.

I’m also ex army and my view is if I like someone regardless of race & nationality I like them and if I think someone is a bell-end regardless of race & nationality they’re still a bell-end

 

Agree to disagree, no problem.

 

I’ll support British fighters until they give me good reason to not support them. Ultimately character matters more than a passport.
