This content is protected Surely he’ll fight Azeez next. I think Sky / Boxxer will protect him until he gets an easy World Title fight. I can’t believe he declined Bivol and then Yarde to be honest. He must be getting paid really well to sign for Boxxer.
Could’ve had any one of Canelo, Bivol, Smith etc in the coming years. But has opted for a warm up and then Dan Azeez. Bizarre…
Yarde reportedly turn down Buatsi However, yes turning down Bivol is mind boggling and shows lack of ambition.
Like I said, he's a complete oddball. Too much of a philosopher than a boxer. How do 'Matching rights' work by the way? If Matchroom matched Boxxer's offer, doesn't he have to sign with Matchroom then?
Normally a British fighter either wants a world title or the biggest domestic clashes. Buatsi appears to want neither.
I believe so else it wouldn’t be worth having the condition. MR probably though enough is enough with him.
Buatsi is one of those people who sucks up your time in meetings/questions and emails but ends up not taking your services. He'll ask a million questions, waste your time but go with someone else for some completely bizarre reason. "Eddie, I like what you've done for my career but obviously I have to think of the bigger picture here and for me, my journey is one that has enthralled many but looking at it logically, it feels right for the next piece of the jigsaw to be somewhere else where I can flourish individually" AH SHUTUP MAN WITH YOUR WAFFLING!
He must be getting paid very good money. With Smith being Berbitiev's mandatory and Bivol fighting Canelo in September where does Buatsi go? Berbitiev and Bivol will eventually fight so really Boxxer should try and make the Yarde fight. If Buatsi wasn't prepared to take the Bivol fight not sure where that would have left matchroom in matching his offer from Boxxer. I assume the Bivol fight would have locked him into a new deal with Matchroom so that would have been the reason to turn it down.
Hearn's ego got too big especially in recent years. He thought everyone would stay with him just because he's one of the lads and that he pays on time. All that drivel about "we work for the fighter, not the other way around" isn't working anymore. Fighters probably don't like his arrogancy now.
Strange career this guy is having I think he just wants to cash out and leave the sport as soon as possible with enough money and health intact
