thats unfortunate .. keep the train a rolling with your great work ... and thats great news with Tito !!! that will be awesome
I’m really sorry to hear that, Chris, particularly knowing you’d spent significant money on it. It’s good to know you’ll still be meeting Tito, though.
Sorry to hear Chris, that must've been shite. I'd be livid in your shoes. Just keep up the great work pal, we all appreciate it (and you) and I'm looking forward to the Tito meeting.
Sorry to hear that Chris. Don't get too disheartened by this experience and keep up your great work. Experiences like this make the epic ones, such as with the brilliant Jofre and his lovely family, all the sweeter.
That sucks. Never cared for the guy much myself from what I've read, and this is confirmation for me. Sorry you got stepped on a bit there.
You might mention to him that he wasn't too proud to accept the gift against Lockridge, why the sudden change? No, that's catty, never mind.
I’m very sorry to hear about that disappointing and terrible experience Chris. That was very classless and unprofessional of them to act this way especially with the amount of money you spent on this. Gomez is a great fighter but he seems to always have been pretty unlikeable from previous accounts I’ve heard about him and this just confirms it. Don’t let it get to you, just know that you at least have several wonderful experience with other great fighters with better attitudes. You’ve been doing us boxing fans a great service. Keep up the great work and looking forward to hearing about your meeting with Trinidad!
So, I never heard back from Gomez but the impressions I get are that his son is a bit of a piece of work. He’s the one who truly blew it. Gomez is in Orlando currently but I’ll be back in Puerto Rico in a few months and will try again. I have some great connects there. I did however go to the Museo Del Deporte and they gave me a tour and brought along Alfredo Escalera, Ivan Calderon, Samuel Serrano, and Juan LaPorte came too. All great guys! And of course I met up with Tito. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, Tito is the most humble and friendly superstar I’ve ever met. He’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met period. Spent a few hours with him, cracking jokes and just chilling. This dude has a big heart and we are on contact and I’ll be doing some cool stuff with him moving forward. He’s still so beloved by all people on the island. We were chatting and people had recognized him and they felt bad interrupting but they said they’d love a photo with Tito and he obliged and told me repeatedly “Sorry, it’s Puerto Rico” as in, I can’t say no to people. I can’t imagine this guy ever turning down a fan a photo or autograph having met him 5-6 times. He said “God has been very good to me and has made me very happy so if I can make people happy and help in any way I love to.” This content is protected https://www.instagram.com/reel/CqBgWdiD9KR/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY= This content is protected This content is protected
That's awesome brother. Tito's looking well there. I'd forgotten how fecking tiny Calderon is, lol. He really did well to make a world class career for himself in the age of weight draining cheats. They're all looking well in that photo, I sort of forgot how old they all are now. Hope they're all good I hope you get somewhere with Gomez and that he takes a look at himself and doesn't act like a bell end again.
Great stuff, Chris! Quick question, I’m assuming that it’s Alfredo Escalera standing next to Ivan Calderon, not Juan LaPorte. Can you confirm?
Chris, those pics were brilliant. You do our sport proud by keeping the history alive. It's always great meeting up with you, BTW.
