No I don't think so. JC got knocked down fair enough, but it was a nice shot from BHop which caught Joe off guard and he didn't sure his self up for it with his stance. Doesn't say anything about Joe's chin, I'm sure Kessler handed out more punishment to Joe than Taylor did to Pavlik in their 1st fight - his biggest beating.

That being said I dont see Pavlik getting knocked down as he follows a strict stance and never goes for the angles, and thus sacrifices balance, like good old Joe

I think this fight will look more like Margarito/Cotto than Hopkins/Calzaghe. Kelly has the strentgh to punish Bhop on the inside and keep him away. Watch the fight again. Joe kept meeting Bhop halfway for those clinches. Kelly stops him.

Kelly will be really strong at 170. His defense is getting better each time out. Plus, his offense is his defense. He'll work on getting his jab back quicker, so it will all but be assured that B-Hop doesn't put him on the canvas. I think Kelly's straighter punches will be more effective than anybody B-Hop has recently faced. After an accumulation of hard right hands, KP = TKO, rd. 10. B-hop will not be able to see after the fight. Kelly's shots swell people up.

Thats exactly what i think. BHop is still much too clever for Pavlik.

B-Hop is just about to join the ranks of men that went on too long. He is 1 of the best damn ****in fighters of this century, but it's his time now, Pavlik by stoppage.

Why? He made a very good fight against Calzaghe with his age of 43. BHop is far away from being shot.

Why should Pavlik knock BHop out. Hopkins was never knocked out.

True, Hopkins has never been KOed. But anything can happen in the fight and with a dangerous, young, and powerful P4P fighter in Kelly Pavlik, it is possible that he can KO Hopkins. It all depends on the conditioning for Hopkins and at 43, age can be a factor.

I voted Pav. by decision. His workrate, stamina, strength, and underrated skills should get him through this. I'd never seen him worn out before, but Hopkins got worn out vs. Calz. and his whirlwind pressure. I think the same will happen against Pavs. percussive pressure. I wouldn't be surprised if he can stop Hopkins late now that Hopkins has shown that stamina is now an issue. Does Hopkins have a chance? Absolutly, he may pull a Davey Moore Duran out of his hat but not likey.

After reading what Kelly said in this issue of the RING, I think Kelly will KO him.

    As Freddie Roach sees it:

“I’m a little bit worried about that fight," Roach said. “Bernard is my friend. I asked him to retire after the last fight. I saw some things I didn’t like and I told him that. "Four times in that fight [with Calzaghe] he walked to the wrong corner after the end of the round. One time they showed it on TV and made a joke about him looking for the ring card girls but it happened four times. Why do you go to the wrong corner four times? Something’s not right because Calzaghe hadn’t buzzed him. Calzaghe couldn’t hurt Bernard but Kelly is a big puncher. He’s a different cat. He’s a young, strong, hungry guy. Timing-wise this is not right."
