Without even watching that let me guess the words shithouse middleweight dosser Gypsy King gap tooth ugly etc we’re all involved.
Nice to see an advocate of Mental Health performing some online bullying. Trick with planks like Fury is just to let them talk and they very quickly get found out.
Usyk is a professional sportsman, he's asking for fair contractual treatment to match the sporting success. Fury is a prize fighter and showman. In it for the money because he realised he could make a living at it and turned out to be one of the best. I think that's all this negotiation has come to. Whatever people think about Joshua I suspect he's cut from similar cloth to Usyk but just happens to be more marketable. He seems more willing to lose. Wilder is a bit more like Fury, which is probably why they've ended up drawn to each other so much.
Good post - hadn’t thought of it like that and it’s a very interesting angle. I wonder if that’s also partly why Joshua crumbled a bit when the levels went up (ie first fight in America). The public reaction will hurt Fury’s ego big time - I don’t think he quite grasped how much this would annoy people. I’ve always really liked Fury, he’s a great boxer and can be a really entertaining character - this is hugely disappointing, frustrating and sadly predictable.
At least AJ had an excuse, even if it was a poor one, for his meltdown after the Usyk fight, what excuse does Fury have for this, Bipolar? If Usyk was going to be so easy for him and money didn't matter to him "you can't take it with you" why didn't he just get on with it and fight? Many of us have known for a while but now he's coming out and making it undeniable, the man is an absolute moron.
He could get a scrap of my respect back if he faced Joyce instead but we all know that won’t happen. We’re more likely to get Fury vs Chisora 4!
I also wonder if he’s spending too much time around sycophants and hangers on and this leads him to believe his own hype. His team around him in camp seem more like his mates than a world class training team. Perhaps that approach suits him, but I think it runs the risk of there not being enough accountability. I’ve never been a huge fan of the ‘an evening with’ self congratulatory tours he does - save that for when you’re retired. I also think bringing out 2 (?!) books whilst still in the peak of your career is a bit odd too. He’s an enigma like Gazza or Ronnie O’Sullivan in many ways. Tremendously gifted, but erratic, unstable and with numerous issues. I imagine he’s an absolute nightmare to work with, and wouldn’t be surprised if he and Warren part ways.
Let's face it, he's always been a tool. Gazza and O'Sullivan had/have issues but they weren't horrible lying scumbags and they didn't cheat, underneath it all they are decent people with kind hearts and some awareness about them.
Yeah, he's absolutely no doubt a nightmare to work with and he's proven it time and time again. He has bottled too many fights now, Price, Ustinov, Vlad 2 and now Usyk, all clear ducks, the Vlad one was an utter disgrace but he got away with it with what we all now know was a sob story designed to detract from the wrongs that he'd committed and bizarrely it worked. He might be nearly 7ft tall but he's a little man when it comes to taking responsibility for his actions. I haven't watched an interview or even a video of his in months, I can't handle listening to him, looking at his stupid face, he's just so irritating. In hindsight I wish Wilder absolutely busted him up in the third fight and derailed all of this, the division might have gained some much needed traction then. Quite simply Tyson Fury has held up the division.
