Very tough call. Loughran probable does have the chin to mix it with Foster, albeit not the power to exploit his chin. Loughran is as clever as they come, but Foster's physical advantages, will offset that to some extent. I would tentatively go with Loughran, based on his impressive record against bigger fighters.
There's no way Loughran doesn't get hit with a left hook. His style was wide open and Foster will find his chin easily
You're acting as if Loughran had no defense to make up for his low guard. Loughran was very aware of how to defend against left hooks, just watch his fight with Braddock.
The biggest problem Loughran would have would be the jab of Foster. Bob Foster had a wicked, hard fast jab. Loughran, by his own admission, was extremely reliant on his jab and the best way to negate a jab is a jab. Foster fought out of a very angled stance. He used his left shoulder and jab to create a wall and, to get to him, you had to move to your left to get around the wall. Thus you moved into his right hand, which was a very damaging punch, either as a straight punch or an uppercut. And it made his hook come from the blindside.
Nice breakdown, and a very good observation on Fosters often overlooked right hand, which jarred Frazier in the first round, not an inconsiderate achievement. stay safe budy.
Ok, since you ask ever so politely, will go with Loughran, he often took on HWs the calbre of : Stripling,Bear, Risko, Sharkey, Braddock, then very good LHWs, Carpentier, Delaney, coupled with Foster was troubled somewhat by the boxer type, Fourie, Anderson, wouldn't say with conviction that Tommy will win, how can anyone, but lean toward a points win for Loughran, he will have to be in tip top shape, and not stay in the pocket for very long. That ok for you dino ? stay safe buddy.
