Outside the HW division, has anyone ever overcame a bigger size gap than Pac-DLH?

    Pacquiao

    Height: 5'6 1/2"
    Reach: 67"
    Current optimum fighting weight: 135lbs

    De La Hoya

    Height: 5'10 1/2"
    Reach: 73"
    Current optimum fighting weight: 150-154lbs


    At world class level and outside of heavyweight, has anyone overcame such a size gap and won??

    B-Hop jumped up 14lbs to fight Tarver but they had the same reach and there was only 1 inch height difference.

    I hear what you're saying, that was amazin from B-Hop, underrated win, but I doubt there woulda bn much between them in weight on fightnight, there will be mucho poundage between Pac & Oscar I bet

    Pac 5'7 ... 150 natural weight (during camp too) I think he can compete against smaller welterweights and do good ... his speed is top notch and will carry him through a tough 147 pound bout.

    I don't see Pacquiao being competitive with any top 10 147lb fighters in the world. The only reason there has been speculation of him campaigning at the weight is because of how easily he dispatched of David Diaz. This is putting it mildy.

    Oscar De La Hoya is not David Diaz.

    Yeah, Floyd looked like that much of a kid he won the fight. Think of Pac-Diaz, then think of Margo-Cotto. The difference is huge. Im starting to think this will be a bridge too far for the *******

    pac is no floyd, diaz is no oscar..not only the weights should be taken into consideration but also the styles and skill level.

    henry armstrong? was featherewight champion and jumped straight to welterweight to win the title then down to lightweight to win that crown.he also fought for a version of the middleweight crown and apparantly he was robbed, they only gave him a draw.

    Not so much in height but in weight B hops - DLH

    DLH went from 130 to 160 to fight B Hops who started out as a LHW

    Calderon was the first name that came to my mind. He is a midget and is nearly allways out sized when ever he steps into the ring. Makes what he has achieved even more impressive.

    Just out of interest who do you think will win the rematch?

    didnt pbf do the exact same thing as pacman is trying to do now? go from featherweight to welter than up to 154 for odlh? pbf did it why cant pacman? but still i think pacmans open to trading style will cause him to be clocked in about 7 rounds
