I’d love to see BJS get his ass kicked by the Mexican monster.

I hope not. I'm not sure I would even classify Canelo v Smith as being a fight. More of an amicable title transference.

Canelo - Benavidez needs to be next...well in September after Canelo ices Ryder. I don't see Benavidez beating the upper echelon at 175.

Agree, Benevidez is a beast on the inside, as long as he’s facing guys who can’t crack with him. I suspect as he moves up in weight or comp he’s going to get stopped. He’s always going to be a rough night at the office for anybody though.

His defense looked good against a guy with low output who was more worried about avoiding shots while he was throwing than doing any damage. Not a compliment there.

    3 things:
    1) Plant's a *****. Talks all that ****, second he starts taking heavy shots either wants to run away or hug it out...but we already knew that.
    2) Benavidez can only fight one way and I don't see him beating Canelo...but we already knew that.
    3) Kenny Bayless is an awful referee who should never work again...but we already knew that.

So really unless you like seeing Caleb Plant getting ****ed up tonight was a giant waste of time. Fortunately, I love seeing Caleb Plant get ****ed up so I got my money's worth.:deal:

I’ve stated it in other threads that Benavidez biggest fight will be with weight. Him going to 175 is because he is having a very hard time making 168. That extra 7lbs is killing him.

Now having said that I’m curious if his power becomes average at 175. Chopping down guys that will now be bigger than him might not be as easy.

Not Benavidez fault Plant fights like he does. Benavidez did what he was supposed to do. Is he supposed to be Pernell Whitaker?

Benavidez will have height and reach advantage even at 175, but power, I don't think so.

Canelo is not fighting him. so he should move up and fight close to his natural weight.

I agree, they need to keep him away from those kinds of dudes. High risk low reward, I’d consider Yarde and Smith as very live dogs against him.

It means this fight is no indicator for good defense.

As a fan absolutely, as a manager…absolutely not. I agree awesome fights but he has bigger things on the horizon I hope.
