I heard it was Wienerschnitzel not Jack and the Crack.

 

Back in those days, it was very common to go into some notorious area, find a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant, walk in and see a picture of Chavez, taken in the restaurant, on the wall. How he found all those spots, I don't know, but he had good intel because they were always very good.
He also liked baseball. When he was sparring for the Gamache fight and abruptly walked out on Jeff Mayweather, it was to get to a Dodgers game that evening. He had been in San Diego that morning to see the Padres play.
There are- or used to be- much better burgers at Jack in the Box than the jumbo jack, but I haven't lived in a place that has those restaurants in years.

 

It's not overly off topic, what are the best burger joints around you? American burger are a bit different from Australian burgers but i like both.

 

If you are in California, people love In N Out Burger. In Texas they will fight you over Whataburger.
Where I live now, we don't have too many chains. I had a very good burger today at a place called Pork Chop John's. They opened in 1917 and specialized in pork chop sandwiches. About 60 miles south of me they have a place called Poppa T's that has a line up of very good burgers; they top them with ham, pastrami and even macaroni and cheese wedges.
In my experience, as you travel across the US, the chain places are everywhere. At the same time, just about every town has a place that is uniquely their own, that has been making a good burger, or sandwich, for years.
A few years back my sister and I went to a place in Chicago that is said to be the only building that survived the great Chicago fire. It is a tiny crooked building and I had the best bacon/lettuce/tomato sandwich of my life.

 

He deserves to eat whatever junk food he wants. After 20+ years as a pro boxer when he had to watch his daily diet and which food however tasty he had to avoid, he earned it. Wouldn’t surprise me if like a few other boxers, he hit the bottle once his pro fighting days were over.

 

Do he go Jack in the Box with Larry David? He’s also a big fan of the Jumbo Jack?

 

Also, he is currently doing commercials for an injury attorney lawyer. I forget the guys name, and I can't find on YouTube, but I see his commercials all the time on the gym.

It's funny In-N-Out actually do the odd pop up stall here and there in some major cities here in Australia. It's always reported that lines are huge and they always sell out.

Just a quickie - traditional burgers here involve the mince/beef having quite a few ingredients, sorta toward a meatloaf but not. In the early days the mix was often something like mince/egg/sauce/onion/salt/pepper and maybe even a little carrot in the patty mix. The egg was a binder and the mince was actually standard butchers mince, nothing special. Our burgers featured a lot of condiments and the norm was cheese/lettuce/fried onion/tomato/carrot and beetroot and invariably tomato or BBQ sauce. It was a big burger and people often loaded up with common extra's of bacon, egg and sometimes even pineapple. Those three extra's would have it labeled a "works burger". In the older days every shop selling burgers here made their own patties where as in recent years many hamburgers in corner stores are made with commercial patties they receive frozen and it just ain't the same.

American burgers are more about a higher quality patty with certain blends of beef to hit the right fat content and don't from what i see have anything added to them. They are also a simpler burger with not as many extras as out here. It's all about the patty and flavor. I love both styles and would love to travel America sampling their more famous burgers, hot dogs and pizza's. American type food is right up my alley. I love the good old American diners in films. I'm also curious per your Philly Steak Sandwiches and at some point will do a few at home with a fancy cheese sauce. I watched the 1st season of The Bear and quite enjoyed it.

 

In and out is good but overrated small burgers and their fries suck.. 5 guys on Hawthorne blvd is a way bigger more traditional better burger imo, with 10 times better fries .. BUT the best Burger in Los Angeles is out of a Liquor store with a make shift Kitchen in back. In Redondo Beach.. It's called the Standing Room , If you go back to beach around there . stop in for the burger , Japanese Hawaiian burgers .. Flavorful and they are HUGE and loaded , check out the menu , @IsaL @Ph33rknot @ElCyclon ... you guys need to go here for a Burger trust me .. . hash tag Local Knowledge . jajajaj ..
And who orders a burger to go? to eat back home out of a bag ?? Hot off the grill right there in the Parking lot is the way to go .. they have seating as well
