It was definitely a fun fight and a good example of how a fight doesn't have to be fought at the highest level of skill to be highly entertaining. Both guys were wide open and wild with their shots, but heart was on display from both men. Arguably, Mailata should have gotten the nod, especially with the knockdown. Regardless, it was a close fight and it would be nice to see a rematch.
I like Mireles, but I hate his sloppy jab and defense, this fight has clearly shown his weaknesses. also the second time someone sends him on the floor early in his carreer imo he should have lost this fight in a close decision
I thought it was a pretty scrappy affair, fun but scrappy. Also it was a 6 rounder so I doubt it'll get much of a look in. Can see AJ Franklin & JJ Zhang both being better. Mireles looking terrible.
Another Kiwi getting the rough end of the stick on the weekend. Hopefully we see Mailata out more often. He could probably take out Fa and Ahio back home.
Patrick was a very promising amateur. One of the best out of enzed at the time. Shame he has ballooned up in weight.
