Honestly, for a fight between two guys who are not champion, in the same month the champion is fighting the number 1 contender, with an unconfirmed undercard, not a penny.

CM Punk was on a card that also featured Miocic Vs Overeem and Werdum Vs Browne.

Which would be like this fight being on the undercard to Fury Vs Usyk and AJ Vs Wilder.

But when you consider you can pay less to watch the the actual champion of the division, face a higher ranked contender than either of these two, it then seems very unreasonable.

If you're referring to Haney-Loma, heres the flaw with your thinking.

The ESPN PPV model is the worst because they make you pay up front. No one likes to do that. No one. Its ridiculous. And what's Loma-Haney gonna be - maybe $10 cheaper? It won't be any less than $75, I'll tell ya that.

At least Showtime is the traditional PPV model of charging you on your next bill. I'd much rather pay $85 extra at the time of my normal pay cycle when I pay my cable bill anyway than cough up a random $75 on the spot like ESPN makes you do.

Add to that the fact Showtime PPVs have FARRRRRR FARRRRRR better production than ESPN PPVs. Showtime is a boxing network run by people who know the sport. ESPN doesn't understand boxing worth a damn, and does a horrible job of presenting boxing.

Then you factor in that Davis-Garcia will 100% end in a stoppage versus Haney-Loma that will probably be a bore...

    Davis-Garcia is the better buy.

I love boxing but whichever way you look at it the business side in boxing is garbage.

Here is the mistake you've made though.

Haney and Loma are 1 and 2 in the division. Davis and Garcia are 3 and 4 in that very same division.

Why pay more to see lesser contenders fight?

I just explained to you the big difference. Are you not gonna address any point I made?

Devin Haney is perhaps the most boxing fighter in the sport. Haney-Loma is 100% guaranteed to go the distance, and there's a high probability it'll be dull.

If you wanna pay UP FRONT a grand total of $10 less for Haney-Loma on a network that's significantly worse at producing boxing, be my guest.

So weird to see "boxing fans" who believe that belts and rankings have got something to do with an economic value of a fighter or a fight.

Davis vs Garcia is a much bigger fight than Loma vs Haney. You can't even compare the two when it comes to (mainstream) popularity, which is the only valuable metric for setting up PPVs.

This. And it's not only a bigger matchup, it's a better matchup. A matchup with a lot more unknowns, and a matchup that will almost guaranteed end in a stoppage.

We know what Haney and Loma are. Haney is the dullest fighter in boxing, and Loma is far past the fighter he was 5 years ago.

Haney being the legit lightweight champ alone is not enough to make Haney-Loma the better matchup.

Ridiculous. At this rate I'm only buying heavyweight title fights involving Fury Wilder or Usyk. I don't even know what to say about the sport anymore. I can't even be bothered to show up here for half the round by rounds nowadays. I don't give a **** anymore.

hiw about you pay for the better fight? Tank has been actively avoiding the best fighting low hanging fruit and Ryan is a Instagram model who has never even fought a top 5 opponent. In what reality do you spend money on 2 guys who are ducks fighting for no title for no ranking in a fight thag you know both guys are gonna suck the champ… just say you a boxer fan and not a boxing fan because paying for any tank Davis or Ryan Garcia fight you gotta just be a fan of there’s with them garbage fights they put on
