The rules are the rules, it is true, but there is a reason to dislike those who would carry the dishonor of never picking on someone their own size.
He's always gigantic compared to his opponent, and yet he still can't hurt them. He looked 3 weight classes bigger than kambo and kambo is a little bigger than lomachenko. But there is nothing we can do if he keeps making the weight.
175 easily, even rolly romero who is 2 inches shorter showed he walks around at 172 - 173. Loma is also to blame here because he has no business at 135.
Looks like a standard 5'6 to 5'9 difference there. Height difference mattered to Loma. Will be be able to get past Haney's jab is the question
im telling you now it's going to be an ugly and controversial fight Discourage normies from watching The size difference is going to be absolutely jarring and it's going to be frustrating to watch the vastly smaller man be the one that has to make the fight and put on the pressure. Loma's T-Rex arms won't be able to fire off many shots as he works his way in. Haney will be on the move running all over that ring and spraying long jabs and single shots that are all missing. There ain't going to be many landed punches at all in this fight. He will grab Loma on the inside every time and stop the action as he makes the little man wrestle 35yr old Lomachenko will grow tired from this as the fight against the 24yr old wears on... further reducing actual punches thrown by the guy that's trying to make the fight Tim Bradley will be going ape**** that Haney won at least 10 rounds, but Andre Ward will have it 1-pt either way and truthfully admit it was utterly fugly and nobody really knows who won. It'll all come down to the judges and the narrative engineers paying them TopRank has many motivations for picking their winner, I dunno which they'll choose but that's a topic for a different post
Everyone Loma fights is bigger because he moved out of his natural class. But 'weight bullies' do exist. They are the ones who cut extraordinary amounts, often with special help, to squeeze into a division of smaller men, so they always have a size advantage. And the fighter who only cuts a light or moderate amount now has to deal with that.
Weight bullying is one of the most prevalent strategies used in boxing today. Same day weigh-ins makes the most sense, but then boxers tend to come in weight drained and then suffer major injuries. This is the reason that was changed.
im a fan of loma more than haney, who i could take or leave, but haney is making weight and performing at high level. if you think hes picking on loma, tell loma to get his narrow ass down to a weight more to your liking, and quit trying to fight guys he has no business fighting.
