    Nonito Donaire gets my vote. A few of my friends and I briefly spoke to him outside one of his fight camps a few years back. and he was a gentleman.

    Arguello is probably still a better answer but in terms of modern fighters, Kostya Tszyu a proper pro. No bull**** name-calling, always came in in good shape and seemed mercifully free of excuses. Other than those two, I think fighters from the 60s back were generally professional.

    The most professional boxer i've ever read about would be Bernard Hopkins. Second would probably be Rocky Marciano. Both were weirdos though.

    That goes for most of the boys you gents have mentioned though :lol:

    yeah you might be right if you talking about looking after his body an preparing himself for fights but as for being a sportsman in an out of the ring like the op said then Hopkin would be one of the last boxers that would be picked

    I concur regarding Marciano outside the squared circle, but inside the ropes i certainly would not call him sportsman like with regard to following those Marquess of Queensberry rules, i know they ruin a good scrap however;)

    You took the wind out of my sails there. B-Hop. Nobody treated their body better with more dedication than he did. Not in the history of the sport. In the ring, he could be a spoiler and bend credulity at times, but he was always there to win, from almost the first day of his career till the very end.

    Yeah, for me ‘professional’ automatically rules out **** talkers.

    Sorry, but if you’re professional, there’s zero reason to make it personal.

    The other side of it is the dedication to the sport - the training, the focus and looking after your body.

    B-Hop qualifies in the latter regard but not the former.
