This ridiculous .... i'm getting tired of the WBA championship carosel ... I think that the WBA should look to get a unification bout for their HW champion.

The same three fighters have been playing musical chairs with the WBA HW strap.

    Ruiz
    Valuev
    Chegaev

    What do you guys think???

the problem is that they take forevver to schedual the fights , oh lets have the fight in say 10 months from now ,. heavy weight fighters need to fight a whole lot more .

YOur right and its dull . who ever of the three who boxes out on top needs to go towards a unification . or retire the belt. to many belts

The ranking system needs to change . Maybe a official organized group needs to take over that responsability . I dont know how this would work .

The major beltholders should be forced to fight each other or lose their titles.

The WBA already said that Valuev & Ruiz would fight for the WBA interim belt with the winner to fight Chagaev. That seems fair I guess but they should allow for unification after Valuev & Ruiz duke it out. That would allow Chagaev plenty of time to get back into the swing of things.

I didn't know that the winner of the upcoming Ruiz Valuev fight had to face Chageav.

Good GOD what a fiasco that is turning into.

The thread starter is exactly right. That belt has been a round robin amongst those three to the point of it getting rediculously predicatable and boring........the fights between any two of those three fighters is pretty boring, and there looks to be no end in sight........

I would not doubt that once the winner of Ruiz and Valeuv fight, the winner will barely loose on the cards, thereby causeing the WBA bigwigs to grant him the first shot at the winner of the Chag fight..............LOL

On and on and on.......................ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Three fighters who toss a belt back and forth, and none of the three of them are what you'd call exciting heavyweight fighters.

The guys who govern that sanctioning body sorely need to push someone new and fresh (hopefully, someone with some KO power to start KOing those three) up into the top three of their rankings, thereby adding some chaos and, possibly, change, into the Valuev/Ruiz/Chagaev trifecta that never ends.

I don't agree with you alot but most of that post was right on the mark. The WBA is like it's own boxing world in its own, the elite fighters in it have virtually no contact with other fighters :huh :patsch

I disagree on you calling them boring fighters (Ruiz certainly is though) Valuev is usually a fairly entertaining fighter to watch due to a few BIG reasons lol, and Chagaev only has a few fights against solid fighters and they are spoilers who turn every fight into ugly clinchfests (Skelton, Ruiz) Your favorite fighter Wladimir also is not Mr. Exciting :good

Its been 3 yrs ... and there has been no progress with that strap ... no one has been mandated to fight anyone and it seems like everytime Chagaev gets ready to fight he always finds a way to back out of it. He's was holding that strap hostage.

That fight between Valuev v Ruiz is going to be for the WBA championship ... Chagaev is probably going to be the madatory for the winner of that fight once he gets healthy ... so we're looking at another year with the same guys fighting for the same belt ...

I didn't go as far a say they are boring fighters, no.
I did say they are not exciting fighters. I still say that.

They are all three, mediocre, at best, when it comes to entertainment value.

And while Wladimir K is NOT my personal favorite fighter, he is far and away M U C H more exciting than any of those three. He can take someone out with one shot, as he did Brock, Thompson.

Those three are incapable of a good one shot KO, and seldom even manage even an exciting TKO............ At least on the world level.

Valuev did entertain against Barrett, I will give him that, but other than that..............those three's fights are pretty good sleep aids.......and the WBA title is the most boring to follow, by FAR.
