I think stylistically Hopkins is all wrong for Hagler and the reach doesn’t help Hagler much either. I honestly see this being a wide decision for Hopkins or possibly a late stoppage.

 Nobody 'breezes past' Hagler. In fact I think Hagler gives Hops all he can handle and might well beat him. However, Bernard's size keeps him in this. Under Hagler's dehydration rules, Marvellous massacres Hopkins.

I do think it stylistically favours Hopkins but Hagler is a warrior I think he would find a way to win definitely close fight though.

I think I've seen Hopkins listed at 168lbs on the night vs Trinidad. Not a huge weight drainer for the day before weigh in era, but significant enough that the timing of the weigh in would be material to the outcome of the fight, and perhaps even the result.

Either way, no way Hopkins breezes past Hagler.

Reach ? I'm fairly sure their reach is even .. Hagler had very long arms, a 75" reach .. Hopkins was I think the same ...

Nobody is breezing past Hagler except maybe Usain Bolt in a 200 metre sprint. And Hopkins ain’t stopping him either. But yes, I can see it would be a hard night’s work for both of them…

I agree with being all wrong for Hagler, but I still don't think it would be a breeze per se.
But I think it would just come down to Hopkins being too big for Hagler. A couple of those famed body shots from B Hop would certainly slow Hagler down for good I think

If anything, tbh, the opposite would ring true first right? Marv had a 78 KO % and thats with a much tougher resume there at 160.
close fight either way I guess

Going to be a close one. Nobody stops Marvin Hagler who could be outboxed but this guy's jaw was made of iron.

    Maybe if they fought today.

No body breezes past Marvin if he is fit and able. And Marvin beats him down over 15 prime for prime, coming close to a stoppage while BHop uses every stall in the book to last the distance.

Hopkins Possibly stopping Hagler is about as likely as me flying the SR 71.
Hopkins beating Hagler is a little more likely but doubtful prime vs prime.
Hopkins is overrated in my opinion. His jab, and grab style wouldn't fluster Hagler because he wasn't as fluid as a Leonard or Duran.
It would be more of a physical fight, not necessarily alot of effective punching, but pushing , holding and hitting.
But Hagler's granite chin, better combo punching, and Hopkins lack of dynamic speed and power would see Hagler on to a unanimous decision.
Hagler beat better fighters in Duran and Hearns than Hopkins was.
Hopkins beat no one on Duran or Hearns level.
    He wouldn't beat Hagler.

Two very durable fighters who for the most part were never stopped ( Hopkins was stopped once at 50 years of age. ). Both could punch at middleweight. Both very skilled and both ATG’s. I may lean towards Bernard taking a close decision but I can’t see anyone “ breezing “ by Hagler.
