Joe Joyce vs Zhilei Zhang - Preview & Prediction Video

This will be a tough fight for both though I don't think Joyce is as slow as people think. I'm not sure if he's slower than Hrgovic.

 

I don't care who wins, it is a good fight and I'm glad they made it. Boxing would be much better if we got more fights like this.

 

I always thought Joyce would beat up Zhang and stop him, and he still could , but after watching Rummy's video I have to admit Zhang will probably hit Joyce with his power shots and he does have faster hands that could enable him to land more and control the exchanges. He may be a more live underdog than I thought but I'll still go with Joyce , because as Rummy said " 40 year olds don't fair well in wars of attrition" But I'm not as confident as I was.

I’m thinking this one will be like a repeat Vitali vs Lennox Lewis minus the cuts. I think JJ gets the win by tko in what will probably be the slugfest of the year!

 

Awesome vid Rummy! You laid everything out well and I agree with all of the more pertinent points.

I am more on the fence than most for this fight, but I still agree with the majority that Joyce will win. The deciding factor for me is not JJ's chin/stamina, nor is it Zhang's power. These aspects of their game can possibly become much less effectual 'overnight' because they are old men. Although usually power is the last thing to go, I still feel Zhang's reliance on speed could fail him at his age/size.

For me, the determining factor will be boxing ability and I think Joyce has all of the advantages in this regard.

A nice prelude to a fight; Rummy. I would be surprised if Joe Joyce doesn't win and disappointed as that would be the end of his championship ambitions. Juggernaut already has an ex champion on his resume - Joseph Parker; who he knocked out, and what's even better, Parker hadn't been knocked out until then.

Cant wait to see this fight, especially as heavyweight has been a waste land at the top level in recent months, good to see 2 good heavyweights not afraid to risk it all.

This could be Joyce's toughest test to date. But I am expecting him to once again to display an iron chin and a patient approach to break down Zhang and stop him late in what will be an exciting fight. I hope Zhang gets other opportunities to make some good money should he lose this fight, I like him too and it takes guts to face Hrgovic and Joyce back to back, while most have preferred to avoid them.

 

Joyce is a great offensive fighter who has great stamina and throws quite a lot of punches and will therefore be a more difficult opponent for Zhang than Hrgovic was, but the fact is that Joyce does not have a better chin than Hrgovic and the question is whether Joyce could survive those punches.

 

Although Zhang has lots of power (did very well against Hrgovic), I cannot see him putting Joyce down.

 

I don't think it'll take long for the Juggernaut to find a chink Zhang's armour.

 

We don't know "yet" if Joyce has a better chin that Hrgovic, he might do as he's looked invulnerable so far but we'll find out this weekend because Zhang will most definitely land and land flush more than once.
