Who would win between Pavlik vs. Calzaghe?

    I wanted to get what everyone's thoughts would be if Middleweight Champ Kelly Pavlik took on Super Middleweight Champ/Light Heavyweight Champ Joe Calzaghe. What weight would they most likely fight at and who would win? What would happen during the fight? Give your thoughts on styles and physical attributes that they would bring into the ring if they would meet in this P4P fight.

    I think Calzaghe would chose his swarmer and petty-pat style for this fight, trying to get inside Pavliks leaky defence and score alot of hits, and make Pavlik tire.

    Calzaghe is an energizer bunny and can go on for 20 rounds full force. He might even mix it up to confuse Pavlik.

    Calzaghe by late TKO due to Pavlik being exhausted and beaten up.

    Can't see what Pavlik can do, other than hoping for a punch that will make Calzaghe unable to get back up. JC is simply a more versatile, resilient, speedy fighter with alot more gas in the tank.

    Pavlik should avoid this fight...

    Joe would outbox him to the decision, though he isn't getting any younger, so if this fight is to happen it has to be relatively soon.

    nah just kidding but i think pavlik should take a page from marg's book and just stalk calzaghe throwin continously no matter where the punch lands...just as long as it lands on joe's body

    pavlik has good stamina too so he could definitely do it

    If Margarito tried his stalking style against Kelly and top fighters from 160 to 175, he would be taking a nap on the canvas.

    So we will probably never see this fight because Calzaghe is avoiding Kelly? I think I have seen that it is the other way around, but I think you're right though as Joe had led us to believe that his fight at LHW against RJJ was going to be his last one. Well, we'll see what happens if both Kelly and Joe win against BHOP and RJJ, respectively.

    I say Calzaghe by decision, but I'm not ruling Pavlik out. I think this match suits his style more than the one against B-Hop. Pavlik will be able to land, and although not too often, he'll certainly be able to do it. I also feel Pavlik is stronger than Calz and this plus his height and reach could offset Calzaghe's workrate and rythym. He definitely would have a shot at winning, but Joe is faster and better equipped to adapt to what Pavlik is doing, better defense and better footwork. A solid chin as well. It would be a good fight.

    My prediction would be Calzaghe UD12 Pavlik, something like 116-112, and Joe may get dropped early.

    Calzaghe by decision ..Joe would not be at the end of Kelly's punches like a Taylor or Locket ..
