Almost, it wasn`t a close fight until the final minutes leading up to the KO.

Moorer was far more skilled than Stiverne was but was too small for the heavyweight division.

Almost, so as i said he didn't win every round.

It wasn't close in the final minutes either, it wasn't close at any point. Moorer was always well ahead. Maybe you meant competitive.

This seems like one of the better posts by you so I will respond to a few points.

Who did Old Foreman fought that was like Toney? You could argue Dwight was closest. But then again Toney was quicker, sharper and more elusive than that version of Dwight. And Dwight hit Foreman with lots of clean shots before eventually getting stopped in the 7th.

Yes Toney fought differently than those. But it is reasonable to expect that Toney would somewhat adjust his style for Foreman. Not in the manner as those, but give him more angles. The names you brought up (Schultz, Stewart and Morrison), they fought differently against Foreman than against other fighters.

I do not say you should count the Ruiz fight as a win. I just say that the fight showed than an in shape Toney would easily beat Ruiz.

Holyfield was past his prime clearly. But still ranked in the Top 5 by the Ring and the betting odds were quite equal. I think we saw a better Holyfield than against Byrd where he had a shoulder injury. So in retrospect, it is easy to say what you say.

Yes Dwight landed a lot of shots but it made no difference. He wasn't able to put a dent in Foreman and got manhandled. It was like a school bully roughing up a kid 3 grades below him. In terms of style and ability he's the closest and the size difference would be the elephant in the room because although Toney is quicker and more skilled with superb counters, he'd be getting pushed back and and clubbed anytime he tried to get close and the telephone pole jab would be right in his face and hard to defend against.

The 2nd closest would be Hoylfield but he has much faster legs than Toney and was much more aggressive getting Foreman's respect with powerful combinations. As tough as Hoylfield was, even he had to clinch for dear life multiple times in the fight and unlike Toney, he had the strength and height to maintain those clinches.

The problem with the Ruiz fight is that Toney used PEDS to get in shape so we don't know how good he'd look when in shape at HW without them. It has to be taken with a pound of salt.

I said what I said about the Holyfield Toney beat because it would be an entirely different prospect. The rankings do not change the fact he was old and didn't remotely resemble Foreman other than the fact he was African American and was a professional boxer. The only valuable information we can gleam from that fight is how quick and skilled Toney could be in a vacuum, but it doesn't tell us how he'd against a huge durable slugger.

Toney didnt use PEDS to get in shape vs Ruiz he used them to help heal a bicep injury fron the Booker fight.
He also took that fight in somewhat short notice and wasnt in tip top shape.

The most commonly used PEDs are anabolic androgenic steroids, which are known for their ability to build and strengthen muscle as well as reduce body fat. Other common PEDs include: Human growth hormone (HGH). Athletes and other young adults may use this drug to improve performance and increase muscle.

Toney at heavyweight was more of a stationary target compared to lower weights. He still had ATG defensive skills and would make Foreman miss comfortably most of the time however as heavy handed Foreman is he doesn't need to land flush to hurt you. All he has to do is put his hands on you anywhere on your body and you're in trouble. I think Toney stars off well then Foreman overpowers him and probably wins a decision
